I've used white out / silver nail polish on my phone chargers so I can always be sure that I'm connecting them correctly. That could work as well for usb cables. Nail polish or white out on the side that has the "connector" so you always know!

I love this idea, but would only use a pillowcase I had been planning on cutting up for rags.

This is great - am totally trying it this weekend!

@ b77 - but what do you use for disgusting messes (cat throw up, blotting up grease off bacon)?

Funny story - my piece I can't get rid of is a papasan as well! I bought it in 8th grade and cannot bring myself to get rid of it. It is comfy and it means a lot to me as my first "buy". I too have recovered the cushion.

It currently lives in my bedroom as my "catchall" chair. It holds any outfit I decide not to wear - until laundry day when I clean it off.

I think a hand written thank you note is definitely more appropriate - I think it shows you have taken the time.

However, in today's age of fast paced hires/fires - sometimes an email is the quickest way to say thank you before they make their decision.

I use mine to keep all my board games and whatnot easily stored. Closet space is at a minimum in my loft apt.

Most of these are charcoal grills (love the taste, but not allowed at my apt...) - any other suggestions for mini-gas grills? Preferably ones that won't break the bank (i.e. - $50 and under). Thanks in advance!

I too have a rediculous amount of books and cannot fathom giving them away. The libraries in my town are woefully understocked or only have one copy of the book. I love being able to go up to my "library" and re-check out books that I enjoyed reading. Granted, some of my fluff books will probably get bought on e-books and stored that way, but hard copy books are just so sentimental to me.

And I rather love decorating around them - always gives me one excuse to have a library room, just like my grandparents.

I stick my old butter wrappers in the freezer (in a zip lock bag) and then set them out when I'm getting ready to bake.

By the time I have the ingredients out or mixed up, they have defrosted just enough I can take one and wipe it around in the pan. Leaves more than enough butter to bake with (and keeps me from over doing it).

I have square white dishes and I adore them. I've had them for... 4 years now?
But like shopgirl, mine are too big to turn in the microwave. For all the ones that have broken - I have to say I believe its just the plates that were bought. I had round plates before this, and I broke those way more often/easily than I do these.

Yes the plates are large - but I like the extra white space. Overall I'd say its really just a style decision. I do not regret my square plates at all - I think they look crisp and clean.

Thank you all SO much! I will definitely be emailing back in with what I end up doing and some finished pictures.

I've actually been in the apartment for a solid three months, hoping it would grow on me. The stair railing isn't too bad, but it’s the railing between the loft and the open space. There is currently a couch up against it, facing the wall (as the loft area is pretty big, its my office/reading area) as well as a clear view of my admittedly cluttered desk.

I really like the suggestions of the fabric creating a "wall", at least for the railing around in the loft area. I know it will make it feel a little more closed off, but with the high ceilings, hopefully the area will still keep its open feel. I was thinking either going with the linen, or doing something with like black tulle – keeps the visibility of the railing, but can help hide/smother the distractions directly behind.

Thank you all again!
- Audrey

I have found if you put them in the fridge overnight, and then form them into balls while the dough is still cool? They maintain their shape better.

I use it for scooping out the inside top of cupcakes to fill with chocolate ganache or extra frosting. Makes a super sweet surprise when people bite in.

Also leaves tiny bigs of cupcakes - perfect for cake balls or tasting parties.

I too use the self cleaning part, but in addition to that - I always lay down aluminum foil at the bottom, so all I have to worry about is the tops and sides, which generally isn't too bad anyways.
After about 3/4 months, I simply remove the foil and put down new.
