Love the feel of the apartment and the juxtaposition of the serene bedroom with the lively living area. Most of all, I love the art collection. I just wish instead of saying "flea market" or "e-Bay", Wendy would give the artists credit (assuming there's a name on or in back of the paintings). Artists deserve credit, known or unknown, dead or alive.

I don't think I've seen 50's style sliding door cabinets anywhere. Anyone know a source for those?

Love how you solved the closet problem. The house has a homey feel. I especially love the sofa/daybed? under the windows in the living room. Can you tell me the source? It looks as if the sides come down. Is that so?

Like some others said, napping makes me wake up crabby, and in some instances nauseous. I sleep like a baby at night, but sometimes I wish I could nap. Usually, I can nap only if I'm sick.

Can't imagine organizing by color; I do it by subject. But I hate the visual clutter. Thinking of rigging a window shade over the bookshelves to make the room more serene.

Sometimes I wish there was more "apartment" in Apartment Therapy. I get envious of people with space over 1,000 sq. feet. But I love your blog and thank you for it.

Thanks for doing the comparison study, but please, please, mention whether you have to flip the mattress and how often. As you get older, if you live alone, flipping a mattress becomes more difficult.

Boroleum (and old-fashioned remedy) for smearing below the nose. It both helps you breathe (eucalyptus) and helps prevent chapping. Also, a sippy cup for beside the bed. It prevents dehydration and spilling.

I grew up in Queens and used to play in an area called "The Bicycle Path". One day someone started to build a house right beside my "fort". Watching it being built -- a long, slim space in the middle of what I called "the woods" -- sparked my interest in architecture. I'm not sure it was Usonian, but it sure looks like the photos.

Love the open shelves in the kitchen. How are they affixed to the walls? Who makes them. What a nice, streamlined look.

I would hope the poster offered to help. Some people have no space, no time and lots of responsibilities. They need help -- maybe not psychological help, though with enough stress we all will -- but someone who will spend some time without judgement.

I envy people with a garage or an extra little room. I have no more stuff than most people, but nowhere to hide it and I imagine there are others. Some people with neat places have the advantage of time, money, space or simply devote their time to themselves. Nothing wrong with that. Just not everyone can do it. They can use our help.

How color is perceived has everything to do with light. Does anyone know if there's a place to go to see which colors work best with which (direction of) light? My place has windows on only one side -- facing North. I'd love to know which colors work best with Northern light.
