Assuming that moving into a bigger place is not an option for you, I would first and foremost declutter. The living area looks like something from an episode of Hoarders! Check out some covered storage options on IKEA to get some ideas for some options that might work. I'm thinking some large cabinets and nice shelves to better organize.
