Hurricanes? In Canada? No, we don't get hurricanes. I can't imagine that it would winter well, although I'd like to give the builders and designers the benefit of the doubt.

Either way, it's lovely.

sierracreek - why wouldn't I uninstall it for the winter months and keep it in storage? That seems like a far more effective way to prevent drafts, yes?

I eat well to begin with, so I don't need a cleanse to 'jump start' my healthy eating habits. I don't need to eat sugar (lemon juice is sugar, maple syrup is...sugar) for 10 days to feel spiritual or healthy or closer to my body. In fact, my body, just as everyone else's body, needs protein, carbs AND fat to stay alive, so depriving of 2 macronutrients is a bad idea, could kill you, and is something NO doctor who knows anything about nutrition would commend. In fact, nutrition is the one thing they glaze over in med school, so the congrats from your GP doesn't really hold much weight.

If your body couldn't detoxify on it's own, you'd be dead.

This is totally irrelavant to AT.

If you have a machine, or a friend with a sewing machine, just make some. Squares are about the easiest shape to make...and it will be WAY cheaper.

They could have decorated it with garbage bags and plastic lawn chairs with a view like that.....wow.

It's a lovely home with a lovely view. Very airy, bright and welcoming, beautiful. (And I think the hight of the art is fine, not that I think you're actually going to change it anyway)

Oh wow....how do they clean??
I could get a few fun ideas from here, but all together in one place is a little too much for me, and my eyes. But I agree, its WAY better than the sterile/staged rooms I've seen.

I thought of Where the Wild Things Are when I saw this. They would be great for that theme in a kid's room.
They're nice, if not really my style.

The second photo is romantic, even if it is silly to hide a roof problem with flamable fabric rather than fixing it....it's ONLY going to get worse. The first photo looks like my attempt at having a canopy bed in high school....except they stapled the entire drop cloth rather than just the ends.

Put the doors back!! It makes everything look cluttered and possibly more dated. The hardware doesn't look to be too dated, just paint the cabinets something that will look good with the brown tile.
Maybe rock the retro and go for a bright orange/green and brown scheme.

What they forgot to mention is that real Hudson's Bay blankets are $400 (for the Queen size)....not exactly in everone's price-range. I have one, but I'm also I Canadian who loves the history and... I didn't pay for it.
