a bag is a great idea because the lil one may have just as much fun putting them in and taking them out of the bag.. as they will stacking them. another (not so green) idea... is getting a container with a lid (plastic) that fits them.... it makes it so much easier to put things away when there's a great container to store them in. it really looks fantastic (i've been a fan of kimba's blog for ages). i'm glad to see i'm not the only mommy worrying about the mess & breathing the dust.... i bought some chalkboard paint recently & it didnt work for the project i intended... BUT we have a nice wall that I could section off like this. very creative! Before & After: Kids' Art Wall A Soft Place to Land |

y'know my son's now three. we have a fireplace that we've never used (but a wood burning stove downstairs that we HAVE used). we never had to block off the wood burning stove, and we pretty much used the fireplace upstairs as a parking lot for his big trucks.... and he's never been confused about staying away from a fire... maybe we were vigilant w/the woodburning stove... but I don't think that this is teaching a child to not be wary or cognitive of a fireplace w/a burning fire. when they are ready to repair the fireplace their little one will be older and much more aware of fire/hot/beware & no. I don't think it's a bad idea... and I think this is a great way to block off the area & was pretty creative. Before & After: A Stylish Babyproof Fireplace |

i dunno... everyone's saying paint it... but that's in EVERY home.... i kind of like the wood. BUT i don't live w/it. currently i live w/mismatched trim in basically every room of the house... i would LOVE to have old wood trim that was consistent throughout my home... but that's me. If you hate it... then change it. I don't think trim is going to make or break a sale.... usually the kitchen or bathrooms do that. Good luck whatever you decide! krikkit... you cracked me up w/the 'cant find em if its out of sight' that's a universal truth! and i think this transformation is GREAT, our landing strip is similarly cluttered. it gets better in the summer when it's flip flops not boots doing the cluttering Before & After: A Crowded To Calm Landing Strip |

my latest cleaning obsession... the shark vac & steam. w/white tiles in our kitchen and foyer (they're on the demo list) this steamer thing has been THE only thing that has kept me from taking a sledgehammer to them myself (especially w/all the snow & mud being tracked in lately). 5 Ways To Clean A Little Deeper In Less Time |

for $50... NICE JOB, i also think a fern in the window space would be nice, and wont break the bank. you might want to look into reglazing the tiles... it's not a floor tile so there wouldnt be much traffic to worry about. Guest Bathroom Gets a Budget Makeover: Before & After |

we went from a crib to a twin bed at 2 yrs old. toddler beds seemed like a waste to me as well, we already had the twin. i used a low bookcase as a bed rail. the bed is in the corner against the wall and the bookcase is on the open edge (from the head). it works out perfectly... he's got a cozy little area, all his books are right by his bed for easy bedtime access. he's never rolled out (knock wood). we never even opened it. when our son was little, even the toxic ones weren't so bad... as he got older, we'd empty anything nasty into the toilet and then wrap the diaper & toss it in the garbage (regular garbage) we never had a problem w/smells... AND our son knew from very very young - where his 'business' was meant to go (not that it made the potty training any easier)! Do I Need a Diaper Pail? Good Questions |
