I used to love this stuff! I got burnt out on it a few years ago, and haven't quite got the urge to introduce it back into my life... :)

The garlic herb kind is amazing melted in with a serving of pasta, for those who follow WW and want a "cheap" pasta dish. I wouldn't recommend leftovers on this, it's much better freshly made!

Love this post... Most of my weird eating preferences happened in my childhood, so please forgive the awful mix of prepackaged, really bad for you foods. :)

1. Lots of pepper on Velveeta shells-n-cheese.
2. Doritos or Lays potato chips ON a pb&j.
3. Those nasty American cheese singles tore up and wrapped around red grapes, in perfect proportion.

While I don't eat any of these on a regular basis/ever, posts like these make me want to bust out the old favs.

I love to make homemade rolls for holiday meals with the family. My favorite, most forgiving recipe that I use is from allrecipes: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/sweet-dinner-rolls/detail.aspx

It's a great base recipe to make crescent rolls, tear-away bread and clover leaf rolls (my fav!), or experiment with herbs/flavors.

Jonagolds! Apples are all about texture for me, and these are perfection.

I love the "a la carte" concept... I have specific shows on specific channels that I watch, yet I pay for hundreds that I don't need... Simply because there isn't that option to select all of my favorite networks/shows. We don't live on the tv, but like to keep up with a handful of shows that you can't get for free on the internets.

I've given up cable a few times over the past few years, but somehow, when I forget how much it screws you over, I always go crawling back... It's a never ending cycle.

Hemp Hand Protector from the Body Shop, hands down. It is amazing... It took me a couple weeks to break the hand lotion application after every washing, but with this stuff, I'm now down to once in the morning and once at night!

This concept is fairly new to me, and I'm a midwesterner. I don't really dig pie (it's the crust... too. much. crust.), but my love of cheese (sharp cheddar in particular), has me very intrigued by the thought of this...

I am tempted to start small with a little cheese and apple action... Growing up my favorite snack was wrapping bits of those horrible packaged Kraft singles-type cheese around grapes, so I'm not shy about the fruit/cheese combo... :)

Ok, first of all, candy corn... I'm laughing so hard to myself. I thought I was the only crazy one when it came to this! I wholeheartedly agree with several of the commenters - ONLY Brach's candy corn. Anything else is not acceptable. And for me, it's only the normal candy corn and pumpkins (mixed). No indian corn and definitely no mix with the bats and corn stalks and weird light brown things... That said, my love for candy corn lasts all of about 1 week, then I'm over it.

As far as trick-or-treatin' candy, my favs growing up were always reese's peanut butter cups (the half version... full size cup, only one though). We "rated" our candy into levels, and were big on the trading out the lower level candy for the sought after top level candies...

The worst candy? Mary janes and those horrible taffy like things wrapped in the solid black and orange wrappers... Bleck.

Eck... Not a fan. I'm getting nauseous just looking at that photo of random block patterns... It seems incredibly out of place and quite impractical... Just look at all of those cracks for all sorts of gross stuff to accumulate!

I agree... I am baffled by the "inspiring" headline. Sure, it's cool he mixed a few different paints together to get a nice shade of gray, but this whole space is pretty lackluster...

I, too, have those horrible laminate cabinets in our newly purchased home (built in '86)! I was totally hoping for a solution to "fixing them up" when I clicked, like the other commenters... How funny! We actually looked at replacing our cabinets and horrible tile countertops, but we were at at least twice the price of what Julie paid, so we're looking for a temporary fix-er-up while we save for the complete overhaul... I think this should be a new post with solutions! :)

That said though, very cute kitchen re-do! I love the backsplash and the awesome blue Kitchenaid! :)

Wow... This is really interesting! It's a cooler, cheaper version of the body monitoring systems that I'm vaguely aware of.

I'd be extremely interested in a future posts on what you guys think if you can get a hold of one... I'm holding out on buying one now until there's some more feedback out in internet land. Definitely keeping my eye out for this!

My boyfriend and I eat at the coffee table, in front of the tv about 95% of the time... We both work longer hours, and the majority of time that we're not at work, we're working on our newly purchased home. Sitting on a comfy couch catching up on our DVR is our favorite way to enjoy our meals at night and sneak in some much need relaxation time!

This is a total winner in my book... I've been looking around for alternate spaghetti squash recipes, because the one I currently use just doesn't cut it for me. Plus, I'm a huge avocado fan, so those alone have my mouth watering! The addition of the fried egg sounds really intriguing... Can't wait to try this one soon!

I actually clicked over to find the recipe for that soup picture (looks fantastic), and ended up getting sucked into everyone's favorite "sick food"... What an interesting post!

For the record, I go super bland while sick... My mom always enforced the "BRAT" diet of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast for upset stomachs when we were little, but the love of applesauce and dry toast when I'm any kind of sick is comforting to me to this day.

And P.S., thanks for posting the recipe!

If there is a hint of any kind of goo - white or yellow, I can't eat it! My eggs have to be "well done", completely cooked through with the yolk mixed in and the crusty brown bits!

Maybe this is why I never order eggs out... :)

I guess I just don't get the "herb in a tube"... Is it not better tasting, just as simple and convenient, and probably cheaper to just buy them fresh?

Sure, I can make an egg and cheese biscuit at home quite easily... and every once in awhile, I do. However, gasp!, I still will treat myself to bonefide McDonald's version once in a blue moon because I will shamelessly admit, it just tastes better. I can't, and wouldn't want to, replicate that greasy and ridiculously scrumptious biscuit in my own kitchen, because well, it's just not healthy...

My dirty secret is out... ;)

Ahh... I grew up in Northern Michigan, and talking about morels always makes my mouth water! We would get pounds and pounds of them, and after we'd gorge ourselves in the Spring with fried fresh morels (battered in egg and flour, and lots of salt), we'd dry them for the upcoming months to throw in spaghetti sauces, lasagna and any other sauces. I particularly like them with tomato based sauces... However, I love the ideas above about the wild rice, soup and stuffing though! I'll have to keep it in mind for next morel season.
