I don't have much luck selling my art at FineArtAmerica.com. People don't seem to value the work put into something; either that or FAA is too unknown. 13 Online Sources for Affordable Art |

Right on, SherryBinNH. Seems to me communication is more important than the words or language needed to do it. Hack away! The IKEA VITTSJĂ–: 5 Colorful Hacks |

I like this, even though it's not for me. It reminds me of the Ojos de Dios I used to make when I was a teen in the 70's. Veronica's One-of-a-Kind Mandala Bookshelf House Call |

I can't speak for all Americans but my first encounter with an electric pot was at the home of a Brazilian American friend in Boston. At first I thought it silly to have a gadget to heat water when she had a microwave. But I found myself using it several times a day. So although I have a traditional stovetop tea kettle that does take forever to heat up, I can appreciate the efficiency. I should not pay more than $20 or need instructions either. I just want to plug it in, turn it on and wait the time of a song on my iPod for hot enough water for tea. I'd put it on the burner my old school kettle sits on, and I'll take mine in red. It's nice to see a non NYC based tour on here. I'm in favor of more from the Southwest, even if it means ignoring the snooty snarky folk in search of decor that suit s their needs and not that of those sharing their homes. Hello Austin! You did great investing in a home that can be snatched out from under you. Hope you can get that lease renewed; I know how it is. Thank you for sharing. First of all I don't like the snobbery and elitism but in a way it's to be expected for websites like this. Beautiful spaces aren't just for rich folk. I live in the Oklahoma City area and they just raised my rent to $545 for my 600 sq ft 1 bed apartment with kitchen, dining area and fireplace and patio. I love both NY and SF but I certainly couldn't stay there with those prices, esp with no income. SF's Micro-Apartments: 220 Square Feet for $1500 |

I sleep with a mattress on the floor. A Coleman twin-sized air mattress at that. No box spring. Have slept like this all through my 40s and I'm 51 now. I really don't care who has a problem with it, they don't get a say-so in my bedroom. LOVE the Montessori room. Wish I had a wood floor. Back to Basics: Beds on the Floor |

I know this post is old, but the info in it is not. I have an air mattress on the floor, haveslet like this for 12 years and plan to sleep this way until physically unable to so so. I refuse to be diminished by those who have nothing better to do than dictate what goes on in someone else's bedroom. I'm glad Apartment Therapy showed how you can sleep Asian-style but with a little flair. Sometimes it seems like white people have us all convinced of only one way to have a bed and what to do in it. Posts like this enlighten and give ideas so keep 'em coming! Thank you. How To: Work the Bed on the Floor Look |
