without replacing any pieces I'd move the sofa against the window wall along with one of the chairs next to it (opposite corner of the closet door). Take out the chest of drawers, keep the coffee table in front of the sofa and the tv in front of that. The second chair may be too much, but it could go on the opposite corner of the other chair (next to the tv).

The main thing I would suggest also would be to eliminate the coffee table and just use small side tables like the one you already have. Other than that the color scheme is great. I love those chairs :)

I don't think I could ever have a dinner party in my apartment! I don't even have a dining table. It's less than 400 sf and that's including the closet and the bathroom, so the main living area and kitchen is only 250 sf. So tiny! I've been wanting to rearrange the furniture forever, so maybe that would help. If I ever did have a party I'm sure I'd just have a joint party with my next door neighbors who are my very good friends and have a 3 bedroom 2-story apartment :)

wow, that's definetely taking traveling to the next level! For me, that would only work if I drove somewhere. The way traveling by plane is nowadays is difficult to bring very much any more. I always wish I could take my pillow with me becaue even if the mattress and sheets aren't all that great the pillow makes the biggest difference. It also depends on how long the stay is; if I'm just staying in a hotel room for one or two nights, it never seems worth it to completely unpack my suitcase, but if it's a longer stay I suppose that would make a huge difference.
The main thing for me is keeping things organized so that even if I'm living out of my suitcase I know where everything is. I'm actually going on a trip next month and I'm going to have to give how I pack some serious thought now!

I would recommend asking a few furniture places or interior designers in your area who they use instead of trying to look a company up in the yellow pages or something. I only know of ones in LA :(

I've never liked these stupid designing competition shows. No one, not even the judges, knows what they're doing and I think it just gives bad name to real interior designers out there with real experience and a degree. It gives people a false sense of security.
I agree with Kit_Kat; I watch, if I watch the shows at all, just to see how bad the rooms will turn out lol.

there's a site called 1stdibs.com that has antiques. I'm not sure how much you can spend, but I would recommend antique places because that's what it looks like to me.

It seems it would be more efficient to paint the wall green first and then stencil in white, but if you're set on stenciling the green you can always trace the stencil you have and make your own for the pattern you want.

I have one from Bed, Bath and Beyond, but I'm not sure if they sell it anymore. The middle part of it can be propped up, like for reading books and it has 2 side compartments for magazines and that kind of thing. B,B&B has one that folds up:
