IKEA is an acronym made up of four letters: I K E A. I is for Ingvar, the first name of the founder of IKEA stores. K is for Kamprad, the last name of the founder of IKEA stores. E is for Elmtaryd, the name of the farm where Ingvar Kamprad grew up. A is for Agunnaryd, the name of the village near Kamprad's boyhood home. That's where the name IKEA came from!

Bought it from an owner who was moving ( kijiji ) and found it it's worth approx $2,500.00
Originally was bought from Wesley Hall, NC.
All down filled, too. FAB!

The living room; why is the furniture ( what I can see ) slapped against the walls? Doesn't look right.

Being originally from Northern Ireland, I've often wondered why Brits and Irish place their coffee tables so damn far away from their couches? A tad hard to read for that cup of tea, no?

I lived and grew up in my childhood home ( N. Ireland ) until I married and left to reside in another country,

Some time ago, I simply typed in my old address and came across an estate agtnets site where it listed my old home. It was totally renovated and wouldn't recognize it all in the inside.

Still, it saddened me that the grand old home was renovated and all three open fireplaces were now cental heating.

Love it! A tad too many things, but nonetheless, it's a great, little home and well put together. Not staged, like some hotel room.

Well done!

Wearing shoes inside the house was the norm in any Irish/British home when I was a child growing up there.

I'm in Canada now and don't mind if ppl wear shoes inside my home, as long as they're not filthy with mud!

As a child, my granny made sure I went out and to school, with a clean, fresh Irish linen hankie. They were beautiful and still are.

I have many children's, Irish line hankies in my bed linen closet to this day!

The primary pic of 'after', THEN the 'before' pic down at the bottom of the article? Shouldn't this be the other way around? The after pic would have been much better if it was a pic of the kitchen like the primary pic, not just of scales, cutlery and a few things.
