Hamilton Pool outside of Austin Texas is pretty breathtaking. It was good enough for Tree of Life, which is nothing *but* visuals!

What is the blue sofa/bench? That doesn't seem like an entryway, but I can't really tell. Point is, WANT.

It's cute, but I sat in it when unfolded into the lounger, and it was hard and not terribly comfortable. Plus, I was in a dress, so getting into and out of it without giving everyone a show was a feat.

I actually won a Public Bikes M8 from Interior Design magazine last month. Picked it up a week ago and have been riding everywhere since. I love it terribly.

The indoors are just arugula and herbs, so they're in west-facing windows [the only kind I have.] They grow a little slower, but they're doing okay.

And if I could somehow get access to my roof, I'd have a whole farm.

I bought seven varieties of tomatoes, and grew six seedlings of each. I have no garden. After finagling with my landlady, I found a place to put eight in 5-gallon buckets, one hanging off the deck, and I'm growing five in growbags at my office. That still left 28 seedlings that needed a home. Luckily, my studio has been working with a local urban farming group, so they were more than happy to take them.

I still have more tomatoes coming than I can eat. And I have two kinds of peppers, two kinds of kale, and arugula and herbs indoors. The decorative pepper seeds I bought just didn't get planted this year.

Love it! We have the same black and white checkerboard tiled, and I went almost the exact same route. Bright blue, black and white and chrome accents. My inspiration was a vintage car :D

I was going to say a similar thing to what AmyRL said. Get an old door, drill/saw in various sized holes. Draw them on with a pencil first to make sure you like the look. And I wouldn't go too terribly big, as then you'll obviously see what the door is supposed to be hiding. But maybe a bunch of smaller holes on the bottom right that kind of float away, like dandelion poofs, like here.

...but the guy who designed it is the one who's being paid for his design taste.

That doesn't mean it automatically should be held up as good design. You sound like that Mr Show sketch...

You really shouldn't read while you eat. You should focus on your food and be enjoying it. I understand reading while you're waiting for your food, but once it's there, you should really be focused on the food.

I say to paint the walls the lighter blue in the bedspread, leave the doors and trim white, and get a simpler rug, maybe even just plain white. The wood pieces you have have an orange to them, so they'll look nice with the blue. The rug is too much for the space, I think. Also, a simpler throw pillow on the chair, maybe the darker blue in the bedspread, would also help unite things.
