Love the little Romania doll! Now We Are Six is one of our favorite books. Love the thought behind it all, map, travel, etc. The only thing I don't get is the rug and lampshade, they look like they don't belong and to me really take away from the rest of the room.

My 4 year old would be in love with this party! So am I! His favorite super heroes are The Avengers, too. Your pictures are really great, everything looks perfect. The kids look adorable in their costumes!

Actually pink didn't become a "girl color" until the 1940s.

A June 1918 article from the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department said, “The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.”

Yeah I'm with tchouquet. I think you did a great job and it looks cool, for sure. I love especially love your wheels and the fabric! And if your son is already surrounded by pink and doesn't like it, I'm sure he was totally stoked!

I'm not attacking the mom here at all, I just wish that everyone would let pink just be a regular color. It's a nice color, just as good as any other. What's the big deal about boys using pink stuff, I don't understand it. My son had his pink DS at a store the other day and someone asked if it was his sisters. Nope, he doesn't have a sister. He likes pink. Why is it even an issue?

I'm a flamingo fan. Something that is both pink AND kitsch? Count me in!

I've always loved pink, and I'm a feminist! My son is four and his favorite color is pink. I thought it was a phase but it's been his favorite for well over a year now. And lucky for me, even my husband likes pink! I wonder if I can get him on board with that ruffled bedding!

Probably the best gift my 4-year-old got was this Angry Birds game, http://www.amazon.com/Angry-Birds-Knock-Wood-Game/dp/B004U52VPS He plays with it every single day, over and over. He likes it more than the iPad version, and I like it because it teaches him problem solving skills. Win!

This Iron Man chest light is fantastic. http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Avengers-Roleplay-Communicator-Lights/dp/B007942ZBM/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1364876090&sr=1-2&keywords=iron+man+chest+light It's cool because it just attaches to any shirt. It makes my son think he's Iron Man. Lights up and talks but isn't *too* annoying. He also uses this every day. We have quite a few superhero dress up type things, he loves them all but this is by far the most used.

Skylanders- His favorite thing for over a year now. Played with constantly. In my opinion he has way too many, but my husband plays them with him so he wins that battle. My son only gets to play video games sometimes, but he plays with the figures all day, every day, especially the giants

Leap Frog Tag Reader- Fantastic. Great purchase. Highly recommended! The best book we have so far is Things That Go. It's very interactive and educational.

I have a baby too and he loves:

Multifunctional and attractive to look at. We play with this thing all the time. He also got the Plan Toys Cone Stacker which we all love as well. I don't know which I prefer, they're both great. The cone stacker is more open ended and will probably get played with longer.

Got him a blabla Mr. X... Total waste of money. Great quality and all, hasn't been played with once.

Oh gosh, it's just fun. I grew up getting a basket of candy and maybe one bigger thing, like a CD when I got older, I'm not sure what I'd get as a kid other than candy. I think that was great. I never felt deprived at all, just the opposite.

The difference for me personally is that I don't want my kids having a basket full of candy. My oldest is only four and while I will let him have a bit of candy on the actual day, I rarely let him have it otherwise. To fill a basket with candy for him would be a waste. So I do little gifts. This year he's getting a wheel-o, a green toys pink car and one small chocolate bunny. Maybe some of those annie's cheese cracker bunnies in the bag made to look like a carrot. The baby is getting some baby legs, a small stuffed bunny and a car. I'm also making them both personalized paper mache eggs. I don't know if that's goiong overboard or not. Almost $30 on the baby, under $20 for the 4-year old. I don't know, I love easter and I don't want them to feel left out not getting all the candy. I also try to get things that we can use as easter decorations or keepsakes in the future. Like the stuffed bunny, I know he might not care about it now, but my older son got one for his first easter and I think it's a sweet tradition. I can use it for a decoration when he's not interested in it and then when he's grown up he'll have it in his house, from his first easter...

Just wanted to mention that I did this last year after I saw this post and WOW, did my three year old love it!! It was so fun to plant the beans and go look at them in the morning. He got a huge kick out of it. We're doing it again this year for sure.

I had bought a big swirly lollipop but my husband dropped it, luckily we had a few of those smaller ball shaped ones in several colors so we used those instead. It turned out looking like a little lolipop forest, it was really awesome.

My almost-four year old requests Skippyjon Jones by Judy Schachner and Now We Are Six by A.A. Milne every day lately. Skippyjon is a hilarious picture book, and Now We Are Six is classic children's poetry which often features Christopher Robin, it makes me feel like a great mother when he requests that!

I think I take a photo a day. At least very close to it. I'm working on my 2012 yearbook (my new years resolution!) right now and coming across so many pictures of everyday things I had forgotten about. So glad they'll be preserved in a useful way in this book! All through the year I've been saying "I have to take a picture of this for the book" and I'm so glad I did! Having a phone that actually takes good pictures is so nice. I usually have my camera on me but the phone is still usually more accessible. Taking pictures everyday captures what your life was like at that point in time in a way taking pictures only on occasions never could.

My 3 year old boys favorite colors are pink and gold. So unlike most people, my problem is more like "Why do girls get all the pink?"

Pink is just a color.
