wonderful apartment. delicious colors especially. and (unsurprisingly) patrick's analysis is spot on: paint and lighting. that is what puts this over the top with excellence.

well done!

for those complaining about the amount of butter, adjust it. but really, this serves 2-4. if you go with the 4 servings that is only a little more than 1T butter per serving. not exactly swimming in oil.

sounds great, and i love the simplicity of ingredients and preparation. and it also sounds endlessly adaptable! awesome template for red sauce!

vinegar and water all the way. cheap, non toxic, and highly effective.

i clicked each of the links above; most do not work, simply opening to a blank page. the one that goes to the main Home Ec Series of Classes works, but you can't get to the knives page via it.

bummer. i was hoping to be validated in my current use of knives. oh well.

as you continue to work out the bugs in the new design, could you please set it up so that when you click on a picture in an assortment of pictures that you are highlighting on the page, the whole page doesn't reload. that way, once you have viewed the series, you don't have to click back through 12 pages to get to the main page you started from.

it would also be great if you updated the housetours so that you can just use the arrow key on your keyboard to move through the slideshow, instead of having to click to a new page for each picture.

for years i have used only freshly ground pepper, and it goes in almost everything. i eat it out of hand sometimes, as i just love the taste. i wish there were candles with the smell of black pepper as i adore it.

but i use all sorts of spices too. if anything, i over spice my foods, but i love complexity in my foods. it took me a good two years living in japan to come to appreciate simplicity and highlighting the essence of a single ingredient. i appreciate it, but i still prefer a party in my mouth.

also a quick note, when i clicked the "back to original post" in the tour, it took me back to the first picture of the tour, not the original post.

what's with the VAST majority being white mantles on white walls? i had been hoping for a little more inspiration and variety than this.

hmm. i have yet to see creme fraiche in any store i have been to. i read about it constantly, but have never seen it. of course, i also haven't ever had problems with whipped cream not turning out. so i guess this is not a loss to me.
