I used to live in a house that had several rooms painted in sherbet and peach tones, and they were wonderful rooms because they were cheerful during the day and warm and inviting at night. You did well. Natasha's Cozy & Cheerful Bedroom My Bedroom Retreat Contest |

Granite and other stone materials do emit radon, which is not considered safe at any level, for anyone. I've heard the argument that granite would not be on the market if it causes lung cancer. Tell that to asbestos victims. I passed on granite for this very reason and went with stainless. Better safe than sorry! Ultimate Guide to Choosing Countertops: Pros & Cons |

I was rocking the vintage luggage over a decade ago, and I still use my collection of 30+ suitcases for storage. I have stacks four-deep as "end tables" by the couch and bed. Bottom ones work well for xmas decorations, photos, old receipts, and other stuff you don't need all the time. The top suitcase is the one I use to stash my laptop and cords, current bills and mail, stuff like that. The suitcases also work well under beds because they hide the clutter and keep dust off of seasonal clothes, extra blankets, etc. You can also use luggage tags to ID what is in each suitcase. I think this is an environmentally responsible alternative to a disposable dish, and one that others will envy! There are lots of disposables that recycle, but none that will save the energy and resources of this glass dish. If I were your hostess, I would appreciate that you care enough about the environment to use sustainable glassware dish rather than a cheap plastic disposable, even if it means I might have to wash a few dishes. And what hostess likes to serve out of plastic anyway?! Tip: ID Your Bakeware For A Safe Return Our Best Bites |

I actually have an old butcher block I want to sell right now. It's small and square, very much like the one in the first pic. Vintage Butcher Blocks in the Kitchen | Apartment Therapy DC |

I like your art, but the furniture placement is strange and would drive me crazy. The chairs at the foot of the bed make the bedroom look congested. Also in the second pic, so many chairs lined up in front of your other furniture, blocking use of the drawers in the chests. Philomena's Art Collection House Call | Apartment Therapy Boston |

I live in western NY, where we know all about this kind of weather! I remember as a kid, when we were going to get slammed, we went out and bought bread, milk and eggs. I guess a major snowstorm really makes people crave French Toast. Hunkering Down at Home to Weather the Snow | Apartment Therapy DC |

I painted my old house SW Rookwood Blue-Green - on the outside! I always considered the color to be one that would be great inside too. The photo here looks just like it. Everyone loved it! Palatial Decor: The Young Victoria | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

A note about baseboard heat: If your heat is hot water or steam, these won't get hot enough to start a fire, let alone burn you if you touch them. So you can put your furniture wherever you please, and while it can reduce effeciency somewhat, it is safe and you will have an easier time living with these things! However, if what you have is ELECTRIC baseboard heat (no water) DO NOT PUT ANYTHING NEAR IT, or you are seriously risking a fire. Working Around Baseboard Heaters? It really is a repro dry sink from the 70s or 80s. My grandmother had one and she displayed an antique pitcher & basin on the open part, which was never used for anything other than collecting dust. The closed side hid booze, so perhaps she was the innovator of the dry-sink-as-wet-bar concept. What Was This Furniture Piece Used For? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles#comments |

Agreed. The photo is not going to look good there. Let the stone be the focal point that it already is, and use your photo as a focal point elsewhere. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Up Against a Stone Wall Good Questions |

My husband & I purchased 8 place settings in different colors for his mom for Christmas. It was fun watching her open each color & now his family has fun pairing different foods with the colors. In the past, they were reluctant to use matching dinnerware sets for fear of breaking a piece of a set. But with Fiesta, you can just mix and match! Also very durable. She calls all the time to rave about her dinnerware. Apartment Therapy DC | Collections: Fiesta Dinnerware! |
