You could replace the ugly ones with replacement faux tin squares. They make them in standard sizes and can be cut with scissors. I found some here:

I am shocked, SHOCKED - that AT is recommending a product that people can buy in a post. I suppose if they had referred to the product as a "melamine foam sponge" instead of "Magic Eraser" some people would be less outraged about the supposed "advertising" but wow - really??

The room must have done something pretty awful to be punished like that. :-(

I'm curious as to how the cabinet kit would perform over already painted cabinets but ll of the examples on Rustoleum's website "before" examples are stained or bare cabinets. Anyone have any experience with the results over paint?

As every stylist knows - the single most important thing you can do to style up your pad is to throw in a bowl of green apples.

Agree with obleak1 - A lot of black people are collectors of so called "racist kitsch" - Michael appears to be white (and gay based on what I gleened from his Facebook page) but either way - spare your condemation for actual racists - not "racist cookie jars". Full disclosure - I'm half black.

A recipe that calls for not 1 but 2 cans of "Cream of (fill in the blank)" soup?!? No thanks - if you are going to cook with that much unhealthy and overly processed junk food you might as well just buy a frozen chicken pot pie from the supermarket and call it a day - this recipe amounts to the same thing.

I would argue that the Marimekko serving tray is way too specific a style to suggest buying as a housewarming gift - especailly right after you warn readers to be wary of purchasing "decor items". Anything that would be on display at some point in the home falls into this category. A graphic serving tray like the ones you suggest is just going to wind up on the junk pile if it clashes with the home owner's preferred style.

Nice idea - but I agree with the previous poster that a smaller size - though still a large one - would look much better. The one shown is overwhelming the space.

This is a cute idea for a photoshoot but it wouldn't look nearly as nice in real life where purses are not color coordinated to match the room and are not all roughly the same size and shape.

First of all - I love watching TV - and watch quite frequently - I am hardly "ashamed" to have one in my living room. However - I think that TVs are ugly and detract from the asthetics of a room. If I am not watching it, I don't want to look at a huge black box that has no visual charm whatsoever. If you don't mind it - good for you - since they are a pain to hide. But there is no need to label those of us that find them ugly as hypocritical snobs. Maybe someday electronics design will be better integrated with interior design and give the consumer more choices - until then I don't want a big ugly TV in my face when not in use.

Bed, Bath and Beyond publishes lots of coupons in circulars, etc... and even though the coupon says it expires, the stores will take them anytime and also wil also allow you to use as many as you are able by ring them up seperately to allow for maximum discount. I just keep a stack of them in my car so I have them handy. The rules online are much stricter of course.
