I only use white hangers on my (also white) clothing rack outside of my closet, but I tried - and failed - to care about the hangers hidden away in my closets. It's a nice idea, but I'd go nuts trying to get everything perfect in there!

I think the answer could be something as simple as an identical 3x3 storage unit right next to this one. It wouldn't be so high as to obstruct the light coming from the windows, but it wouldn't feel like such an out-of-place piece either.

I can always tell the NYC apartments in this competition just based on first glance alone - we do have our own flavor, don't we? Even still, I love that this place (aside from the exposed brick) feels like a departure from New York - like a corner of a traditional Southern plantation house or something, with the tall doors and furnishings. The kitchen too! Great mix of styles.

I think you could use more of a separation of your "bed" space from your "living" space - you're trying with the 3x3 storage unit, but it hovers somewhere in between not having separation and being separated (since it's so low/thin), so it doesn't quite feel like enough.

But with that said, very funky space! I love the playfulness of the Japanese figurines and art, and the color palette totally works!

All who are asking about the It's a Wonderful Life/Jimmy Stewart poster, take note of her last paragraph:

"Right now I use the space above my bed to screen films from my projector. It works great, except the wall sits blank when not in use."

It's an image projected right onto the wall! I wish it was a poster but alas, it's not :)

Instalike. I've seen this before on AT because I definitely have your gallery wall/desk area saved to my Ideas folder. So clean and fresh!

(Do agree with bethany though - I wish we were seeing a few more brand new entries, not people who have entered before/been featured on AT before.)

This is Ikea done right. Love that it's very clean, a little rustic, and overall quite bright. I wish I had that balcony!

This is lovely! I'm impressed by how casual it feels but how, I'm sure, you were thoughtful about each and every piece you brought in. And of course, ADORABLE DOGS. Win :)

Love this! I'd love to know what neighborhood you're in, if you don't mind sharing. Always trying to get a sense of what else is out there (I'm in Astoria right now).
