I agree with username26 and Violet Veil and GradStudent. I hate "hidden ingredients" in things and always read labels to make sure I'm not eating something that shouldn't be in my diet. Blech.

My great grandmother's house had its kitchen in the basement in the German part of STL (although they were Italian). She had it moved upstairs sometime in the 40's. Her house had two rooms, so she must have lost some space when she moved it upstairs.

I have the same issue. I put an armoire in front of it. My room is small enough that you can't really see over the armoire by getting far enough away from it. Extra storage too!

I have been drinking Sokol Blosser wines for years and they are no doubt my favorite winery! If you're ever in Dundee, OR, visit their tasting room, the views are to die for!

I don't have a dishwasher at home, but I take my mugs to the office and wash them once a week in the dishwasher. It gets rid of the coffee smell until the next go. Other than a dishwasher, I don't know because I've had the same problem when handwashing!

The Filling Station in Westport, KCMO has given me multiple god shots (I feel like I'm talking about sexual experiences). I believe it's due to the oils in the coffees they roast and the skill and tools of the baristas. I constantly crave their espresso...yum!

I work full time and have two dogs and my roommate also works full time and has a dog. Let's just say, the days that I am at home, they sleep ALLLLL day. Lazy dogs. And they sleep ALLLL night.
The younger one was insane as a puppy! He earned the nickname El Diablo from my neighbor who watched him for a weekend.
So far, he's eaten: coffee table edges, baseboard, window sill, sofa cushion, sofa sides, three pairs of shoes, and I think that's it. Luckily he's 1 1/2 now and has calmed down a lot. Let's just say I about threw him off the balcony on many occasions! But, he's my boy and such a sweet dog!

I would kitsch the crap out of it! I would do a knitted moose head, I saw them somewhere online. And lots of plaid. And sticks (not Styx, but that's cool too.)

I have two slipcovers and lots of advice:
1. Surefit's two piece slipcover in suede looks very nice, but the bottom cushions slide off very easily if you have dogs or anything that will be doing a lot of jumping and playing on your sofa. If you are just using it to sit, you'll be in good shape. They wash up quite nicely.
2. If you have dogs or anything that jumps around on your sofa, get the one piece cover. They're easier to take off and wash and put back on than the two piece.
3. Ebay, Ebay, Ebay. DO NOT pay $120 for your slip cover! I bought both of mine on Ebay for $50 or less, just be patient and watch for a couple of days, you'll find something nice!

I make about $720 a week before taxes, but only end up taking home about $475 a week after taxes, insurance, 401K, etc. So basically, I can only afford to pay $475 a month...I'm screwed.

Has anyone ever heard of a landlord increasing rent when a new roommate moves in? My landlord is trying to increase the rent by $100 for three of us living there instead of two...I think she's milking us! Is this even legal? I mean, the third roommate is going through the application process and everything too.
