I've been in Jamie's home and the photos are gorgeous and really capture the incredible design sense she has. Her design is always an inspiration for me and my own home. The selection of pieces are carefully chosen and mean a lot to her.

The fact that both Jamie and Apartment Therapy were onboard with the FAGABEEFE reference just confirms that this has been and always will be my favorite website as well as design resource.

I'm a fan of the strawberry huller. You get more strawberry than just cutting off the tops with a knife.

I saw this yesterday and had to make it immediately! I used coconut milk and a little bit of soy in place of the yogurt. Was afraid it would be too much lemon but it wasn't! Great recipe!

I don't care about any studies that came out or come out in the future. Our 2 Jack Russells sleep with us in bed usually under the covers or right next to us with their heads on the pillows every single night - we wouldn't have it any other way :)

I agree the posters above that say going vegan fueled their passion for cooking. I hated cooking and once I went vegan it was a challenge for me to make delicious vegan meals for my meat eating friends. Since then cooking has become a love of mine and experimenting with vegan recipes and substitutions has been a lot of fun.

My number one piece of advice would be to do your research before you go vegan. I know several people that jumped into it and were not healthy about it and failed at it never to want to try it again. Know what nutrients and supplements you will need to get in other ways and make sure you are getting what your body needs - everyone is different. When I went vegan my energy increased dramatically and I feel so much better physically and mentally.

Read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. It's a life changer.

Before Daiya, the vegan cheeses were okay but now they are just inedible. I've been vegan for over 3 years and have come to terms that cheese is something that there will never be a replacement for. Daiya changed everything. I'm not saying it tastes exactly like cheese but it's the closest we've ever got and I think it tastes great. We make grilled cheese sandwiches with it and it's pretty incredible how great it melts!

I use coconut oil to pop on the stove and it makes the best popcorn I have ever had! Once you use it, you'll never use another type of oil.

Magritte is my favorite artist! Thank you for this post! Our bedroom is a tribute to him (work in progress) with apple green walls and framed Magritte prints.

This definitely depends on the city. We have a great house (for our likes) in a nice neighborhood in Austin, TX but you can't really walk anywhere (coffee shops, bars, etc). However if I were living in Chicago I would have to live somewhere where you walk anywhere - it's just the feel of the city I think. It really depends on the person too. Our house is only 6 miles from downtown but it feels very out of the way, which to me is a nice thing :)

Lately I haven't been spending money on much of anything but will do whatever it takes to spend money on good food. Local farmers markets are obviously more expensive than your cheap grocery stores but it's so worth the quality of the food you are getting. I agree with a lot of the above posts: great FT, organic coffee and chocolate, high quality and great smelling natural body products like bath products and skin care, and books on food.

Vegan Brunch by Isa Chandra Moskowitz.

Endless and delicious options! I am vegan and allergic to wheat but fortunately can eat spelt. Bagels are off the list for me but there are some great spelt english muffins out there.

What a great post - vegans love brunch, too!

It's about 104 degrees outside during the day. I keep the house at 82-84 degrees while I am at home. I know this sounds super warm but when you compare it to what's going on outside, it's drastic. I know I am saving quite a bit on my electric bill. I just wear less clothing.

I definitely try not to use the oven too much during the summer :)

We were just here this past weekend for dinner and drinks. It's quite an experience because the actual interior is so beautiful it makes you want to stay there for a few hours! Apparently there is a vault that you can have parties in too. Check out the drink menu - they have a famous mixoligist who has come up with all the incredible cocktails.
