Grege Ave, Sweet Pear and Spanish Olive all look beautiful. I'm particularly a fan of Spanish Olive, but it's hard to tell without seeing the furniture right next to it how it'll all play out. I also don't know what kind of feeling you're going for in the space. Sweet Pear is much more playful and brightens up the space to equal that rug of yours. Spanish Olive would be more elegant and soften it the room, I think, making the rug really pop.

Can anyone source that coffee table? I love.

I wonder if he really does spend "hours" in the bathtub working... tepid water, pruny skin... waterlogged designs. This does not sound fun.

..and where's the closet space? Where do they get dressed in the kitchen!? I am befuddled

sigh.. if only I was that organized. Your home looks incredibly welcoming, comfortable, well loved and lived in. I hope can see it in person someday.. and sleep up in that loft! Oh, that would have been my favorite spot in the whole house as a child.

A man cave is an adult playroom. It's geared toward comfort, not beauty, and that allows us to really enjoy ourselves rather than worry about cleaning up all the time. It becomes gender specific only when a certain hobby needs to be represented, like poker or hunting.

I have a studio where I do yoga and sing, and I keep books and posters in there all related to music. This playroom is used for my hobbies; the type of "play" I love. Confining it to one space doesn't mean I'm rebelling against the rest of the apartment, it means the room has a theme and focus, and the decoration is reflective of that.

Don't judge the mancave so harshly unless you also have beef with men and women enjoying different pastimes. That's really all it's about.

I love the Mimosa color, but St. Elmo's looks a little sickly too me the green undertone...

I tried painting my bedroom a VERY bright almost neon green color when I first moved in and I absolutely hated it... it was blinding and I thought I'd never be able to focus on anything other than the wall color if I left it that way. I'm feeling similarly towards this St. Elmo's color... the rest are all very nice.

I love bright colors, but had to teach myself (after many decorating failures) that a color you love on your clothes or in lampshade does not necessarily look good covering an entire room's worth of walls. The pic above makes me really happy because there's a crisp white above and below it which breaks up the color and would allow me to breathe in that space. If the white wasn't there it might be too overwhelming, and I would want a large white canvas of some sort and lots of white or black furniture to break it up.

I've become a big fan lately of accent walls as well, which take care of my need for color, but keep the room feeling spacious and comfortable.
