thank you, thank you, thank you for pictures which show your space and not just your stuff.

i voted 'super cool'. i do think the tv wall needs... something to make it feel as finished as the rest of the apartment (and hooray for getting rid of the halogen lamp). that said, i love the drapes leading into the bedroom, the trio of mirrors in the dining area, and the way everything works together.

i'm having such a problem with this year's crop of entries: having a small apartment, in and of itself, should not be enough to make people think they could win this contest. clever use of space! innovative design ideas! where are they this year? i'm not talking about spending money -- i've never based my vote on what someone *has*, but i definitely base it on what's done with it, and this year is a real let-down to me in that regard.

that said. leslie -- your hanging cork room divider *is* a fun, original element, and i'm glad to see it.

i would have loved a couple of pics that showed an actual overview of the apt. (and what about the kitchen? where are your clothes?) but i still voted super cool, and a large part of the reason why is the bed in the walk-in closet.

to me, this contest isn't just about whose place *looks* better, but is also be about (clever and original) use of the space. there hasn't been a lot of that is this year's entries, sadly.

my favorite kind of chocolate is dark chocolate, but i also love chocolate with lavendar in it. you wouldn't think that'd be good, but it really, really is.

i'll tell you who i'd really like this gift for though, and that's my son. only 16 year old boy i've ever known who not only loves chocolate, but he appreciates the good stuff and loves to try out different kinds.

this entry reads as 'i don't care' to me, which puzzles me, because why bother?

the focus of the first pic ends up being the vacuum cleaner, and the third pic isn't even about your apartment, but rather what's outside of it. that leaves us with one photo of pictures and a bench (an echo of photo one, minus the small household appliance) to make a decision about your apartment.

i'm sorry, but the whole thing just comes off as almost a joke.
