@Discerning We have 2 of the Svan highchairs. Our kids used them from the time they were about 5 months old. We bought one with the detachable tray table. The plastic tray is a big help and machine washable. The cloth covers on the chairs are durable and machine washable and come in many colors (so do the chairs, in different wood). When one child outgrew the tray but not the chair, we put the tray on the new baby's chair. Our kids are 8, 6 and 3. They all still use the chairs (without tray of course). The seat height is adjustable. They climb on it and bang them around and the chairs have withstood it all; they are put together with Allen wrenches. Maybe once a year I check each screw. I like that even though the boys are older, their feet don't dangle from regular height dining chairs. They can sit comfortably resting their feet on the bottom pedestal of the Svan chairs. I sit on them sometimes too. I'm 112 lbs.
