It's not really my taste, but I've Mod Podged fabric onto furniture before, so I can appreciate how much work (and time!) this took. Did you coat the top of the fabric with the 'Podge as well? Or just leave it to the underside? Before & After: Cristin's Mod Podge Buffet Makeover |

I too have a smallish living room with only one possible place to put the TV - above the fireplace. When I first moved in and realized the inevitability of that decision, I was worried that it would be too high. After living with it for 2.5 years I can happily report that I have no neck strain or other adverse effects. I also don't think it looks "tacky" but that is a matter of opinion. That "relief" moulding can probably be removed pretty easily, if you want to have more streamlined drawer fronts. And you could putty in that grove easily too. Although if you go that route, you'll definitely need to put contact paper or wallpaper on the fronts, as it would be very hard to get a perfect paint finish. What To Do with Homely Chest of Drawers? I just decorated my patio last weekend in a look that is incredibly similar to this, but did it on a fraction of the budget. $35 outdoor rug from Pier One, $100 total for a bench, two chairs, and a table (built-to-order find on craigslist), string lights from Amazon, and a salvaged pallet that I made into a wall garden for just the price of the succulents. I even have a ceramic drum stool that I purchased years ago for $25. A Colorfully Perfect Patio for Summer 2013 |

I like the idea of contact paper for the drawer fronts - and it's easier and cheaper than wallpaper! Maybe a cool metallic contact paper? I've seen distressed silver on amazon pretty inexpensively. Then paint the body (@adfsarahjkl emerald green would look awesome with silver drawers!) and definitely add bun feet. I think the original knobs might be able to go back on without any paint, if the contact paper has a little brassy tone to it. What To Do with Homely Chest of Drawers? Good Questions |

There is absolutely no way they can see that TV from the couch. I agree with everyone above, this "solution" hurts more than it helps. Just put it on the freaking mantle and get over it. Did You See This Secret Fireplace Feature? |

Nice idea, I am all for using vertical space! I have to wonder though, why didn't they go all the way to the walls, and higher up to the ceiling? Seems like a bit of space was left on the table, and that would have given them a more permanent, built-in look. Before & After: A Blank Wall Gets Shelved |

I agree with Jess13's suggestions. Some sleek modern fixtures with dark wood traditional-ish vanity would be cool. I would personally like to see a gold faucet, but I know it's a fine line between "fancy" and "1980s" when it comes to those. Ideas About Traditional Wallpaper Pattern in a Contemporary Home? Wow, some really great suggestions here, thanks guys and gals! Sad news though - the hardware is not brass. I thought it was too, based on the pics, but once I saw it in person I realized it's just some sort of hard resin with a (scratched) brass finish. So new pulls are probably in order. I agree that this has a lot to do with corporate atmosphere. I am lucky enough to work in a place that encourages personalizing our spaces (to a certain extent - we do have a grumpy officer manager to contend with). But having recently decorated my office with a mix of stuff that was overflowing from my home, some specifically purchased accessories, and the office furniture bestowed upon me, I can say that I definitely feel more "at home" and comfortable in my space now that I did when it was a sterile white box. And if I get laid off or decide to quit in the foreseeable future, then at least it wasn't because I was miserable in my space. 7 Ways to Make Work a Little More Like Home |

I know this is going to sound weird, but I love that color grout with the tile. Choosing grout color is surprisingly challenging, but this really makes the blue tile stand out and look like a ceramic wall, instead of a standard wall of kitchen grade subway tile. Nice work! @MidniteSunLtd, that's why the "low" portion of this post exists - for people who are on a tighter budget and don't want to be "wasteful." But some people do have the extra money, or want to pretend like they do when reading design blogs, so it's fun to see the similar high end stuff. AT isn't asking you to buy anything. When I saw the "before" I was scared to see the after - makeovers on solid wood furniture usually make me nervous. But I love the white drawers - it make the piece a little different from the rest of your wood furniture (I know the feeling of too much wood on wood floors). Super cute, nice job! I have cork in my kitchen and LOVE it! But I don't think I would make it the primary flooring in my house. Maybe it's just the finish I got, but it fades in sunlight, so I wouldn't recommend having it where windows might cast direct light on the floor. #3 is my favorite; it's got a place for everything AND space to work. Some of the other rooms' desks are so small it would be impossible to work on anything other than your computer (I'm looking at you, #6). Beautifully Organized: Craft Rooms |

I looked into tankless when my water heater died, and the cost of installation is what killed it for me. I could stomach a couple hundred extra bucks for the unit, but I would have had to replace a lot of the plumbing and venting in order to accommodate tankless. I ripped that exact sink out of my old bathroom, but couldn't bear to part with it completely. I've been keeping it with the thoughts of making an outdoor kitchen area and using it there. As someone who regularly struggles with the "does this make me a hoarder" syndrome, I would say that keeping these things in your parlor might actually incentivize you to do the work sooner - just so you can get the bathtub out of your space.
