Just stuffed delicatas with Swiss chard, navy beans, pine nuts and gruyere. Delicious.

What a handy tip. I cooked my last pot of beans without a lid, and they really were more firm than usual.

This weekend I made a giant pot of great northern beans. Last night, we ate beans with rosemary and sage over polenta, and I'm making a white bean puree to slather on bread and serve with a salad later in the week. And I still had to freeze a few cups for another use (or two).

Aeropress rocks. It's inexpensive, teeny tiny, and makes a big and bold espresso. And it gives you la creme de la crema.

I made the soto ayam a few weeks ago, and it was superb. We had six people over for dinner, and I used more noodles to make it go a little further.

I read it over Christmas in the UK, and I thought it was pretty despicable. Every article ends with a call to action to purchase products from his website. At least three of the five book reviews were on books written by his business partners, chefs at his restaurants, etc. I realize he's brand-building, but I found the overt sale quite obnoxious.

That said, it was a beautiful magazine with matte paper and lovely design. I even clipped out a recipe. But if you're not groveling at Jamie's alter, I wouldn't recommend the pub.

I pick up a few boxes of Kleenex Expressions each month at Target. Some of the designs are better than others. Here they are on Amazon.

The epicurious version closely matches the Brunswick stew (the GA variety) of my childhood--just add potatoes and ditch the peppers. I made a pot with wild pheasant a few months ago plus a few turnips, which held up better than potatoes in the long cooking process.

I bought the 3M removable wall hooks, hoping they work as advertised and don't rip the paint off my wall.

Foster Farms provides brining instructions on its site (http://www.fosterfarms.com/cooking/turkey/brining.asp), so I would assume they're not pre-brined.

I am a gentle human and have pulled some of the stitching out of this duvet. And ironing was quite an ordeal.
