The husband and and I are in a 1952 ranch house, and two of the bathrooms have original tile -- the master has a sort of pale aqua, and the guest bath has terra-cotta-orange. While the orange wouldn't be our first choice, we love mid-century baths, and the tile is in great condition. Contemporary paint colors (deep purplish-grey looks awesome with the orange) and artwork on the walls keep the spaces from feeling too much like a time capsule.
