I <3 Makedo.
@MissHeliotrope - the connectors allow the boxes to be made into anything. It's not a kit for a house, it just looks to be what that family chose. We use ours all the time - rockets, boats, pirate ships, etc. And like OLAStyle said - you recycle it a few week's later. The only problem with it is that I am now hoarding cardboard boxes.

Aha! That's the difference, AmberM. I was reading these surprised that so many Ohdeedoh readers had never seen a learning tower before - the obvious predecessor to this product. Uy, another reason for me to bemoan this new setup.

I'd love a learning tower if I didn't have this tiny kitchen, or this product if I didn't have a tiny bank acct. A step stool is perfect for my 4 year old, but not tall enough or stable enough for my 1.5 year old who also loves to help.

(And there's a good chance I'll be submitting a rainbows and unicorns post in about 2 months.)

What I love about 1 year old parties is that you can throw whatever theme you want because they do not have any opinions on the matter. May as well do what you like before you succumb to a rainbows and unicorns party in a few years.

When we converted our attic to a playroom, I had my brother install little fairy houses in the walls. They started out as electrical junction boxes, so they were already the perfect shape to install in a wall. I decorated them (far less glittery than the flash photo leads you to believe). They're one of my favorite parts of our house.

I wonder if our local celebritree made the cut: The Tree That Owns Itself.

Love this. Very creative touches. I especially love that you weren't afraid to do a party your daughter would love just because it's been done. Do you have more pictures posted anywhere else?

I like to put them away to pull out again the following Christmas. I make a 'Christmas past' display of the cards so that we can compare the pictures to the current year's cards.

I was wondering the same thing about the clementine. It sounds delicious.

Haven't played Peter and the Wolf for our kids yet, but may have to soon. I think my 3 year old might enjoy hearing the different instruments.

The packaging is not the hard part for me. (We love Lunchbots!) Keeping the food from going to waste with a picky toddler is the challenge.

Well, we loved it. My brother made it for my two year old daughter and made her summer. Thanks, Ohdeedoh.

We download stories. Our 2.5 year old is happy with the stories with or without the books.

My favorite thing to do, though, is record our own. My husband is great at doing voices for characters, we have a little bell to indicate when it's time to turn the page. I started recording books when a student with dyslexia wanted to participate in a reading contest but couldn't keep up with the chapter books. I thought I'd record the shorter ones (Roald Dahl!) but it took so much less time than I thought that I ended up doing some of the longer chapter books as well. Picture books take no time at all. I'm hoping that as Daisy gets older she can participate in the voices and sound effects.

Audacity is a great free program to record with.

So glad this was posted. I've been considering buying one. The mattress looks so think, though. Was this an issue for anyone?
