My old apartment worked in a similar way. The living room, dining room, and second bedroom all worked on one fuse so we couldn't have too many things on or that would be that.

This meant that we could not have an AC in the second bedroom and living room in the summers so my dog would sleep in my bedroom during the summer months instead of having the second bedroom all to himself. I don't think he minded.

I pinned this to my dream home board. The place is gorgeous! BTW, Classic Silver by Behr is a dead ringer for the wall color in the living room.

I have it in my bedroom and it is beautiful. It changes tone when the light hits it in different areas.

It's from apt2b.com. I only know because it's the same sofa I've been lusting after.

I'm in need of a sofa that is small because my living room got the short end of the stick in terms of space. I honestly love the apartment size sofas over at apt2b.com. One of their sofas was featured in a housecall here recently and I recognized it right away as the sofa I'm saving for!

The prices are right in my budget (under $1k) and they are beautiful and come in so many different styles, fabrics, and colors. Please feature them, AT!

Then there's this studio: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/michelles-sweet-and-eclectic-studio-house-tour-175552.

It pretty much breaks all these principles and I prefer it more. While this place is nice and chic, it's a bit too masculine and sterile for me. Hello? Does anyone live here or is this a showroom?

A small space doesn't have to be devoid of colors to look nice and spacious.

I feel the same way. I now have to pay for my water so the more dishes I can put in the dishwasher instead of washing by hand, the better.

I would assume the fix to anyone who feels they are using too many dishes is just to use less. Use one bowl, rinse it, use it again. Repeat.

For a one-bedroom, the space is pretty large (especially in NY standards). My 2-bedroom is the same size and it often seems small to me.

I shared a room with my parents and then with my younger sister and brother for the entire time I lived at home (moved out when I was 21). Us three huddled up into one room made us closer. Even when we bickered, there was no place to go but the living room and that would only bring up questions from our parents so we duked it out on our own.

I moved across the country a few months ago and I miss them terribly. When it comes to my own future children, I'd like them to share a bedroom too so they don't become distant.

I really do love the simplicity of this space. It is very light and airy. I'd be terribly frustrated with that sloped kitchen wall, though.

I'm copy/pasting my reply b/c I didn't realize I could actually reply to comments, hehe:

@greatdane12, it doesn't seem like these are actually pre-made for consumers so you may have to DIY this one and it seems rather easy. Get some plywood, foam, batting, fabric, and a staple gun (upholstery needles and thread if you want tufting) and have at it!

You can also use a king headboard and a queen headboard and put them together if you want an easier end result. Hand them up with heavy duty D rings and you're good to go!

I pinned this onto my secret board along with this image for my guest bedroom: http://www.houzz.com/photos/744088/West-Hollywood-Residence-eclectic-bedroom-los-angeles.

It is really the perfect solution for butting up a bed into a corner, especially in a small space.

I've seen this home before. I think I subscribe to her blog! Anyone remember which blog? The dark office/spare bedroom was what got me. The whole place is lovely.

I love how clean and neat this is. However, for a home with children, it's a bit too sterile and cold.
