Did you know that the inspiration for this 1930's design came from a bicycle? I have one (my brother gave me one of his pair - the real deal) in my small studio. It keeps the room from looking heavy as I have mostly brown wood furniture. It is also surprisingly comfortable. A few years ago Knoll reissued the chair in different colors. It is a classic design. Enjoy.

Sounds like the Thimble Islands to me...... what a great thing to remain in the family. I stayed at a house built on its very own island and it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

My older sister might say I am "challenged" in the area of organization. I took 1 of the 2 closets in my studio apartment and turned it into an office but it really just looks like another "dump" zone. I really do throw things away but but some how - some way - a little bit more seems to appear. Having you share your expertise with me would truly be a prize! Thank you.

Kate

WATCHING Mom live her life everyday was the best advice I have ever received. She was an example of what to do EVERYDAY. Dad died in a plane crash and Mom was left to raise 6 kids (oldest freshman in college and youngest (me) 6 mos. old).

If I had to share one thing she taught me... Be a "Do-er" in life.

Oh! This one is much better...I submit this: If you don't feel like doing something at the moment Fake It and the rest will come.

Just like the commercial says..."because I'm worth it!"...it took me a long time to discover the joy of cooking for myself but the more I build my skills and recipes the more I enjoy it and the more I like cooking for other people too! I am always looking for good single recipes...share if you have them and I will too! Oh, Williams Sonoma has a good cook book, I think it is titled Cooking for One. Bon Apetite everyone.
