Fix what makes you most comfortable. If you faucet is not working, then have the landlord fix it/replace it, but otherwise I might leave it alone. When my roommate and I moved into our Queens apartment after first arriving to new york city we actually put in some relatively inexpensive new "wood" flooring and some laminate tile in the kitchen, and a new laminate counter top (our kitchen was TINY). they were labor intensive updates, but worth a couple of hundred dollars for us to have decent floors and a *definitely* clean counter top. Those two things improved both the look and the livability of the space - changes worth making!

I mix my vinaigrette in a glass jar, when I take it out of the fridge to dress a salad i usually hold it under warm running tap water for a few seconds - maybe swishing it around every once in a while. then it's ready in no time.

1 Large sized Can Crushed San Marzano Tomatoes
1 Regular sized Can Organic Tomato Sauce
1 medium yellow onion diced
Liberal amounts of minced garlic (fresh or refrigerated)
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, Cracked Pepper, Red chili flakes, and dried oregano to taste.

In a large saucepan, saute the garlic, onion, and red pepper flakes in the olive oil. Once onions are cooked through, add both the crushed tomato and the tomato sauce (you can use chopped tomatoes if you prefer). Add salt, pepper and oregano to taste. Stir and simmer for 15 minutes.

No sugar needed, comes out perfect every time!

I put two long Grundtal rails behind my bedroom door and use the hooks you can get to hand my purses from. Works very nicely!

My FAVORITE place in Paris – this is an amazing grocery store (yes, I said grocery store) that is owned by Le Bon Marche (it would be like if Bloomingdales had a big gourmet market). They have fresh foods and they have packaged foods. I go here and get food for lunch to have a picnic in the park, and also to pick up souvenir/gift items for friends and family (think French chocolates, amazing raspberry and currant jams, etc). If you are in the area, well worth a quick stop.

A great store, I was able to get a very good Manchego cheese from them - something that you might struggle to find elsewhere in a state full of cheese!

When I roast a chicken I don't use a rack, I usually slice a few white or yellow onions thickly (about an inch or inch and a half) and put the chicken on top of that. It keeps the bird from the bottom of the pan and seasons the drippings. This could probably work for a turkey as well!

Enjoy!

I actually really enjoy this pan. I use it for making Spanish tortillas and it works very well. I've never been able to master the tortilla flip without spilling egg all over the place and so the interlocking pans is really saving me a lot of mess.

The pans are a great quality and you can use them individually as well, so it's really useful for more than just making tortillas or frittatas. The top part of the pan is shaped a bit differently from the bottom pan (the sides are more curved), so I could see how it would be good for crepes.

overall, I think the pans are great, and I would definitely recommend them especially for those who enjoy a good tortilla as much as I do!
