i'm glad to finally see this!! my husband and i lived in a modern urban space in downtown houston that had a bathtub IN the shower stall. (next to each other, like in the first picture, except we had a glass door and the shower stall was the same length as the tub w/2 shower heads). we thought it was the weirdest thing at first- but now i swear on having another if we ever remodel/build a house.
i loved the feeling of being in the bath in total seclusion. like a little sanctuary :)

now living in chilly dever- we wish we could have one again! it was great to turn the bathtub into a steam room if i had a cold, and was tooootally worth the clean up!

we have the ikea karlstad... in white with the chase, and we love it! its not exactly the same, but a nice, cheap option.

i know karlstad has been mentioned many times on AT before, but just wanted to say again how much we love it.
it was super cheap, the covers are easily washable, and its totally comfortable.

oh and to add one more thing:
we also had a cat that did the same thing, thats why we opted for the decals so she could still look out and watch the world pass by.

so i know a lot of people have posted frosted film... but i have another option that's sorta the same!

we had the same issue with a townhome we lived in in houston... it was like living in a fishbowl. super modern and beautiful windows, but also a big frame to see in through.

we tried the frosted film, and a.) it was difficult to cut it exacly straight in the exact size for our windows, and b.) it was a little old-school for my liking (nothing against anyone that uses it! just wasnt our style) and c.) there were too many bubbles in it when finished. we scratched the whole project and went a different route.

we bought some square decals w/rounded corners from blik (normally for a wall, but they work on glass too) and put four squares in each of our windows. they had enough space around the outside of each to let in tons of light, but they blocked the main view from our neighbors. we had SO many compliments on it, and the new owners even asked if we would leave them up because they liked them so much.

so i would recommend checking those out and see if there are any designs that you like! there's plenty to choose from!

good luck!

we used to live within 20 minutes of an ikea- and my husband swears that moving AWAY was the best decision we've ever made. after the first few trips with him, we've decided that it's maybe not the best place to go together :)

the shopping carts are the worst- and the thing that ends up being the most frustrating part of the whole trip!

the last time we went together, we were following the maze with another couple who was arguing about going home and playing xBox the whole time. (obviously the husband wanted to, and the wife did not.)

i do love the store, but you most definitely be prepared to walk into a war zone. especially on weekends.
