Love this... and the fact that you didn't cram a couch into the play area.

Tinted film... add colour and reduce light transmission. Perhaps a dark tint for the operables and a light tint/colour for the fixed.

For this type for artwork I would use Velcro 'dots' adhered to the wall/back of piece. First you would need to mount the artwork on scrap lite cardboard or gatorboard. The dots can be removed from the wall without marring the surface if you want a change up.

You could also consider outdoor fabric (ie used for patio cushions). I have used it to cover an ottoman so my cat won't be tempted to scratch.

Not exactly the grasscloth look but as it's a woven vinyl it will stand up well at the corners and where the lid rubs against the side of the box:

I usually didn't end up with much - low maintenance relationships and not living together were high entries in my rule book.

But when I did have items - photographs, small token gifts or letters/cards I discarded all but one for that particular relationship. I find doing this helps me move on from that experience without travelling down memory lane over a group of things palced/stored here and there. They are all kept in a box together which I havent looked at in ages.

When I'm old and grey I'll bring it out and have a good laugh no doubt - of course when my husband isn't home :)

Mr Higgins (my bf's 12 lb Norwegian Forest Cat) took a liking to my beautiful camel back love seat's arms. Luckily my bf noticed before it was completely ruined. Now I cover it with tin foil - a lovely look! Unfortunately Mr H has decided to migrate his scratching to the outside arms :(
Must get more tin foil!

My last move used the same boxes - supplied by a moving company. I am in commerical design so I used our usual move company we retain for clients.

These are great - their large size makes packing a breeze. They stack cleanly and protect their contents as they cannot crush.

After completing my move the company never did come back to get them - so I am ready for my next move. In the mean while they are great for storing items and lending out to friends for their move.

Never had a dishwasher and most likely never will. Always seemed overkill for only 2 people. I recall my mother wheeling out the old dishwasher for our family of 5 back in the 70's. It was a chore hooking it up to the sink each time but she was so proud to finally have one. After about 6 months the luxury wore off and it was never used again.
She kept it in its cabinet recess though - I guess the idea of having it never faded.

A b/w pastel portrait of myself when I was 6 years old. Not in caricature style but I looks so sad (I'm sure I had to pose for a quite a while) you'd think it was one. Still have it and it makes me wonder just what were my parents thinking? Must dig it up and have a chuckle.

The house is lovely - all those windows and that kitchen island! There are some odd choices which I wouldn't agree with regarding lighting and furniture. As a DIY its a fantastic job well done.
