Move. Someone willing to ruin beautiful wood ceilings with paint that matches their stupid trendy furniture doesn't deserve to live in a place with beautiful wooden ceilings. How Do I Paint My High Cathedral Ceilings? Good Questions |

Cmon, enough with the white already. Most people can't live like that. Most people have pets, children, drunk friends, etc that would ruin a white room. Not to mention I never had a set of white bedsheets that lasted more than a year (being alternated with a spare set every week or so) without turning yelow/grungy. We're filthy humans. White makes a space look/feel unlivable, and few people can afford the constant cleaning/replacements that come with a white room. Embracing White in the New Year |

That's a good point - I don't understand why there aren't any electric outlet options inside vanities/cabinets -- I have some under my kitchen sink for my disposal, but they'd be great in my bathroom for small things that need to be charged like toothbrushes! Install shelves in the walls! Or you can find/make some sort of hanging shelf that hangs from hooks in the ceiling, if your walls are tiled & you can't drill into them. It's definitely a project, but worth it! Your Biggest & Smallest Bathroom Problems?? 2013 Reader Forum |

Do you use enough water softener? I grew up with hard water, and after nearly 2 decades my parents FINALLY figured out that new softener needs to be added every week in order to keep the showers from looking rusty. Your Biggest & Smallest Bathroom Problems?? 2013 Reader Forum |

My ongoing #1 is the lack of counter space & organization for the many products us ladies use. I don't even use that many products, but never have space for the little I own. Also, nowhere to store heat styling tools & hair dryers. One of my old bathrooms which was seriously vintage - like 20s/30s had an old porcelain/ceramic/tile material cup holder (missing a cup) installed in the wall above/next to the sink - this odd protrusion was a wonderful, heat-resistant spot to stick my still-hot flat irons & curling irons when I was running out the door! It also kept cords out of the way of water. I wish all bathrooms had these! Your Biggest & Smallest Bathroom Problems?? 2013 Reader Forum |

This doesn't LOOK like a typical place inside The Venetian, but I do like it. However, my aesthetics may change once I'm in this place surrounded by a bunch of frat bros on spring break blasting Drake. HGTV's Antonio Ballatore's Rattlecan in Las Vegas |

I'm utterly confused. I stared at this photo for 5 minutes trying to find a difference other than throw pillows. I guess I notice the curtain rod now, but it doesn't look any better or worse either way. I do not notice anything else different. Small Tricks, Big Difference for an Evolving Home |

Yep, agreeing with all the other reviewers, the cool/bluish light is hideous, too dim, doesn't give off that warm & cheery feeling traditional lights do. In Chicago the past couple years, they've been trying to use LEDs to decorate the trees on major streets, and it doesn't seem any brighter at all & kind of makes you FEEL colder when you're around them) LEDs are way too expensive & honestly my non-LED lights seem to last longer (LEDs do not last nearly as long as they say on the box - 1 year/season seems pretty standard). $40/mo savings in electric bills SOUNDS great, but for 10 strands, the month of December, you'll end up spending MORE than $40 just to "upgrade" to LEDs! Etsy has a lot of lighting/lampmakers. Lamp making is actually a pretty easy trade, the toughest part is sourcing materials & drilling metal/glass/etc. Many of them will make custom sizes & finishes, too. For the best deal & most unique piece, I'd start browsing there, find someone who makes chandeliers similar to what you want, and ask them for an estimate for one in the measurements you need. This is disgusting. Also, this is your future. I work in the multifamily asset industry in southern California & ASSURE you, every time an article like this is written & receives a lot of attention, 20 new buyers/developers decide to buy land or old apartment buildings & convert them into these shoe boxes, so they in turn make 2-3x the amount of money they used to back when they had normal, comfortable apartment buildings. DO NOT shot at Overstock! Everything I've ever bought from them was defective right away or broke within a matter of weeks, and processing returns is a nightmare. They seriously make EVERY return so difficult, calling you multiple times a day to make statements, they once accused me on the phone of not actually being me.. (?) They are simply a nightmare & sell defective merchandise you will never be able to return. 10 Black Friday Sales You Can Shop from the Comfort of Your Own Home |

Also, FYI for anyone attempting to make these at home - don't plant succulents or cactus in sand like the images above. The sand quickly hardens & is resistant to water absorption. Plus succulents & cacti need well-draining soil with a lot of air circulation. Any regular soil with bits of styrofoam mixed in is ideal. If you really want the look above, only sprinkle a tiny amount of sand on the very top, and keep a closer eye on the plants. The moment they discolor or begin shedding "leaves," change their planter immediately to a more spacious one with ONLY soil. Also make sure you don't over water. I've killed many succulents by over watering. 1x a week, maybe 2 during the summer if they're in a hot, sunny area max. The Sill: Easy-Care Plants by Delivery Store Profile |

Yikes.. I guess succulents are exceptionally rare in New York? Those plants would cost a couple bucks a pop at any home depot or mom-n-pop nursery in CA. Especially for young small succulents like the ones above. I guess I should start selling my own mini-plants in my own handmade planters in Manhattan.
