Ugh! Meant "not color".

I completely agree with you. I also don't think it has to do with the colors themselves-I think it has to do with the amount of light they reflect or absorb. I wonder what would happen if they put people in red rooms that get a lot of light (for, say, a fortnight) and then put those people in the same red room with blackout drapes and see if there's a difference. If there was a difference, it would indicate light is the issue, no color.

This is my favorite so far and I don't even like bright colors. Lovely!

Most of my boyfriends shaved under their arms. Not every single day but often enough not to look like they had Buckwheat in a headlock. They did it because they noticed deodorant only gets on the hair-not the skin-and they'd end up using twice as much deodorant than if they just shaved.

Sigh. The worst thing about the Small Cool contest is that we don't get sources like we do when there's a full house tour :( I love the credenza and LR wall color, Tara! Can you tell us more about them?

It's the Chloe from Macy's. I know because I have it :)

The marble window sill idea was everything to me! My wood sills are always filthy (because I leave the windows open) and of course rain and such will ruin them. I never thought of cutting a simple stone and sliding it into place. Beauty that's functional? That's just genius. Thanks, Dana!

I think she was speaking about working from home. I work from home and the problem with working from home (one of the few) is that you never REALLY leave the office because it's right there. I consider it the price I pay for being able to-in my case-work in my pajamas, get an extra 2 hours' worth of sleep (no commuting), and take luxurious baths on my lunch hour.

The demo was free of costs? So you didn't get a Bagster or similar to get rid of the debris? If not-how did you get rid of the debris? I live in a condo and I'm trying to find a way to handle this problem.

Me, too! I've been living in my condo almost four years and I only use that space to grow veggies, which is insane because I pay for the space. I hope they do a review of tables, too :)

I love what they've done with the footprint and this is one of the few house tours on the site I can actually understand the floor plan for without being provided with an actual blueprint. I will say, though, that I am one of the most color phobic people walking planet Earth and I thought it was too white. The color seems to increase on every story but on the main floor the whiteness was almost blinding. I was seeking art, a colorful rug-anything but white on white on white.

We literally have the same life. I'm single and childfree and I work from home as well and don't need to do laundry as often since my work uniform is pajamas :) I find that means most of my laundry loads have become towels and sheets for some reason, though. When did that start?

Agreed, @lyonstill , though I will say instead of fighting landlords I now fight a condo board that tells me what I can and can't do in the unit I pay for. But it's still worth it, yes.

I love the way you've stored books all over the place (as opposed to just one room). I think it looks less cluttered that way and am totally stealing this idea.
