I use the OXO pop containers http://www.oxo.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=10764&minisite=10024&respid=53057 I don't know if any are big enough to hold 10 pounds of flour though; the one I use doesn't quite hold 5. I have several sizes and use them for just about all my dry pantry ingredients. They're also air-tight, which is a big plus, especially if you live somewhere humid. turn the couch up on its end, so that it's on one of the arm sides, and move it that way. i moved a sofa and a loveseat up two flights of stairs, and it was way easier to get it around a turn in the staircase and in the door without a lot of finagling.
