Thanks everyone for all your amazing ideas. I am leaning towards gift cards to a local organic coffee shop - that seems to be universally acceptable and liked! I am definitely including a hand written note expressing my gratitude to the teachers. Their job is unbelievably hard. End-Of-Year Teacher Gifts Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

Try filling up water in a bucket/pail and use a small plastic jug to pour water on the child. It is really easy, portable and quite safe (as long as you're there). Wet the child with the water, soap on and then wash off by pouring water. Has worked for centuries :-) Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Good Question: We're Remodeling - Do Kids Need Bathtubs? |

For generations Indian (the South Asian kind) people have been using hammocks to put their babies to sleep. Works beautifully. They do not use mattresses or blankets in the hammocks. The hammock is usually made from an old saree belonging to the mother, hung up from the ceiling or even a tree. A piece of wood is used as a separator to open up the top of the hammock. It's funny that age-old traditions such as slings and hammocks are coming back now! Apartment Therapy - Good Question: Miyo Baby Hammock |

My DH and I have been struggling to come up with a name for our baby boy due in early December. We are of Indian (from Asia) origin and would like an Indian name that isn't too hard for people in Toronto to say. To add to the confusion, every time we mention a possible name to people, someone goes and jinxes it by saying negative things about it. It is tough to try and please everyone, but ultimately it's going be your kid that is stuck with this name! What pressure! LOL! Apartment Therapy - Blogging ABC News: The Great Baby Naming Dilemma |
