Don't forget about your local public library as a resource, too! They often have intensive historical collections and librarians who are prepared to help you dig through them. They'll usually have access to census records, local historical directories, historical newspapers, etc. If you just want the information most libraries will do research for a small fee.

Bananas, our cat absolutely LOVES bananas. I know they can't digest the fruit but he likes to lick the inside of the peel, and sometimes pulls off the stringy bits and eats them. We're bad and give our other cat our cereal milk, and every time Atticus (banana cat) tries he the throws up, so the occasional banana is his treat.

I live in Ithaca, NY and we have mandatory recycling, but instead of being fined if you put recyclables in your trash you pay per bag of trash (on top of garbage pick-up fees). You purchase trash tags at the grocery store and other chosen spots and each bag of trash must have a tag on it to get picked up. So, either you put the recyclables out or pay the extra fee to put them in the trash.
