@ gundis. I don't understand. What do you think will need to be fixed? The back splash is removable so that it can be washed when it needs more than a wipe down. Half the contact paper up there has been there for three years without needing to be "fixed".

What you see is the "clutter" that we have. We have more cupboard space than we do counter space.
But yes the detergent bottle has reappeared!

That's my kitchen, On The Kitchn! Squeee!
Thanks for the kind comments.
I just wanted to say that the low res. before picture doesn't really do justice to how terrible the cabinets are.
They are more mustard than yellow and have brown and gold flecks on them. Like someone threw a shredded Mother of the Bride outfit (circa 1984) at a the cabinets!

I second the call for a nursery tour, is that linen fabric on the facing edge of the bookcase/room divider?

Hi folks! I would say probably not. At first your little one probably won't notice and by the time they do it will be something they're used to. What is that a restaurant order bar you're using to old pictures? because... awesome.

Cute! Well, except for the bunnies with Meth-face, they're just disturbing. And even creepier on the yellow background with the red eyes.

Saltyc, that's pretty much our situation. Got to love the $3-a-load laundry facilities and neighbours who are sniffy (no pun intended) about having baby poop in the shared machines.

Since posting this I've added a few drops of lavender to the solution. Lemoncadet and domingosiete how does the shampoo work for you? I was wary about it drying out his skin, but I'm prepared to give it a go. Cheers for the tea tree oil tip!
Another thing, our builing has an organic materials recycling program and you can toss the NON-POOPY wipes in with your compostable stuff.

We travelled a ridiculous amount when I was a kid and as it was just my mum and us three kids she had very firm rules about packing. From the time we could hold a bag the rule was 'if you can't carry it then you can't bring it'. At 3 or 4 years old this applied to toys but from the time we were about 5 or 6 it applied to everything. Needless to say we all have the ability to travel light.

The Bugaboo Frog has been brilliant for us. We live in the center of Toronto and don't have a car (I don't even know how to drive). We live 10 minutes away from the hospital where The Bear was born and we walked home in a snow storm with him wrapped up and asleep in the bassinet, the Frog easily dealt with a foot-and-a-bit of snow.
It's light enough to shlump up and down stairs on the subway and the bar that allows you to pick it up one handed has been worth it's weight in gold for me. It also rides escalators like a dream.
The baskety bit holds a week's worth of groceries (though judicious squishing is sometimes required.) and the height of the handle lets you push the thing for bloomin' HOURS without getting a crinkled spine (and I'm 5'10").
Ours has also travelled like a champ, it's been to London, Paris, and Dublin in the last 3 months and the bassinet meant we didn't have to worry about dragging a travel cot around. We don't have the travel bag ($150? Sh'mah!) I just rigged together some Velcro straps and strap it all into a bundle, which is easy enough to do even when I'm travelling alone.
So, praises sung.
