I like the new color on the wood, but not the new fabric so much. Unless there are impossible stains or the fabric is worn out, I tend to avoid reupholstering.

I think there is a problem if you're getting a gift for a child that is more for yourself or for another parent. Some of these toys ARE classic and timeless that children will of course love, but some? No so much. Why get your child a play rotary phone for example?

I like it. Anything bright or exciting is good for children. It actually annoys me a bit when I see these dull or subtle color choices chosen by parents for their children. Kids need to be stimulated -- their rooms are their spaces, it should be about them.
