Is it just me or has anyone else heard that granite emits radon? I think granite is a trend that will fade from favor and vote me in as part of the group that cant stand the "buyers" on House Hunters that must have granite and stainless in the kitchen-yawn. That show's a total fake anyways. The only way they will consider you as a "contestant" is if you've signed a purchase and sale agreement on a property. I love the idea of refurbishing old furniture this way using stuff you can still find for a reasonable price at thrift shops and just getting creative. There's an entire shop here in Chicago called White Attic where that's all the guy sells, or used to (he's branching out now into scented candles and such). It's amazing the amount of $$ he gets for old dressers and end tables that are simply painted, and not nearly as interesting as these pictured. Good gimmick. DIY Roundup: 10 Fab Revamped Dressers |

This is one of the best house tours AT has ever featured. Every inch of this place is perfection. When I saw the quohog door knocker on the front door on the second slide I knew I was in for a treat. I dont get it. When some celebrity nit-wit "designer" like Jonathan Adler or Kelly Werstler create interiors that for all intents and purposes look very similar to this house there's all sorts of oohhing and ahhhing going on. Why is this guy's style any different from that type of ecclecticism to the extent that it deserves to get bashed as too busy and overdone? This tour is one of the best AT has posted in a long time. You have impeccable taste and the house is perfectly appointed and decorated. The attic bathroom is fantastic. The exterior's tranformation is amazing and represents yet another reason (as if we all needed one) to hate vinyl siding. What neighborhood do you live in? Carrie's new apt looks kinda contrived to me. Her apt in the series was one of my favorite components of her character, even though it was totally escapist fantasy. Big's apt in the series was the bomb - total NYC alpha male lair. This looks like the set director tried to combine the two and it comes off as being completely unoriginal, sorta like the movie in general.
