I thank you all for your comments and critique. This is such an important conversation to have. AT was nice enough to say our products are eco-friendly, however, the real focus at AphroChic is on sustainability, and you will see that in our Environment policy. We are focused on limiting our impact on the environment, and strive to do that through supporting local businesses, less harmful printing techniques, having a made-to-order product, and organic options for our tees. As we grow, we will work to develop even stronger environmental policies. While we are not 100% green, at AphroChic we believe sustainability is just as important. We envision a world where every company starts to think about how they impact the environment and to make small changes that can still be significant. Thank you, and so glad you like the beautiful Harlem home we did the photo shoot in!

I absolutely love all of this Philly love! As a Philly girl myself (who has now been transported to San Francisco) I was also deeply insulted by Dwell's article. I am so glad AT spoke up for the city that first helped me fall in love with interior design. Philadelphia is a city full of culture and inspiration. I always remind people that we have the nation's first art museum. The Rodin Museum on the Parkway is one of my favorite places to go. The galleries in Old City are a wonderful view into the new and budding artists the city has to offer. Our music scene showcases some of the most creative singers and songwriters in the business - The Roots, Jill Scott, Musiq! Philly is constantly growing and changing, and at the same time it is a city with deep roots and a history. That's why I love it there. Thank you AT!

The first thing that struck me about the room was the "Hope" poster. I have no idea why it can't be part of a luxurious interior. Who makes those hard and fast rules? I myself have wanted to put an Obama poster up in my home. I don't think it's creepy, but inspiring. This is the first place where I've seen it done in a way that welcomes a political piece without it looking strange or unwanted. A beautiful room all-in-all with luxury, a great color palette, and a little bit of politics. I love it!

I really loved this article. The discussion of a new creativity-based economy is something that I've been thinking about since the crash began. We all have an opportunity here to throw away some of the ideas of the past and look towards a new and greater future. Many of those lessons can be learned from our grandparents who lived during the Depression. My grandfather started his own business afterwards and became his own self-made man, founded his own company, and he's not a wealthy man, but he is a happy one driven by his own ideas and ambitions.

We are heading into an amazing transition in this country. There will be a lot of negatives, but I think some positives too, and I do think New York will be the center of a whole new economy - one that is hopefully once again driven by our talents as Americans rather than our wallets.

Why are they doing this to us? Why? Why? Why? I hate Conde Naste. I will never get another publication from them again for doing this to me. What will I read, where will I go for resources? While I love the blogosphere, there is nothing better than picking up a glossy mag and getting inspiration from it. I feel like I'm mourning the loss of a good friend (I know...I'm so dramatic).

Hi Everyone!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I am so glad that people love what I've done with my apartment.

So, I saw some questions about where things are from:

Chimay, the feather medallion is a Cameroon Juju Hat. I ordered mine from AfricanArt.com. They are fantastic to work with, and got me the specific color I wanted. I would definitely order through them. You can also find Juju Hats at Room & Board.

Manys, the coffee table is from West Elm. I got it a few years ago. Their floating coffee table is very similar.

Bemyescape, the print of the girl in the yellow top is from one of my favorite artists, Dallas Shaw. Her work is fantastic. Check it out here www.dallasshaw.com.

Thanks for your comments regarding the African art. It was important for our place to avoid that safari style. I hope to build up an even better collection through world travelers. Some of these items were bought through one of my favorite etsy shops, Blue Belle Bazaar http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5034485.

I definitely welcome all of your comments. The rug is a Moroccan wedding blanket I received from the wonderful Maryam in Marrakesh. Although I would have loved to use it as a blanket for my bedroom (and that was the original intent), it's very heavy, and really works better as a rug for me.

The wallpaper is actually wrapping paper that I purchased at Border's. My hubbie and I just nailed it to the wall with some finishing nails, and it really came out great.

For some, all of these things may not go together, but for me they do. I love French antiques, and definitely want to have my culture reflected in my decor as well. That's what I was going for, and I think I achieved a space that is uniquely me.

Come on over and visit the contest! Thank you Lily and everyone at AT SF.

CitiApartments is into price gouging and is unsafe. I was looking for an apartment for my mother here in San Francisco. She is on a fixed income, and we needed something affordable. CitiApartments was requesting three times the cost of rent to move into the apartment. The deposits are insane, and definitely not reasonable for those who are "financially troubled". They treated my mother with such little respect. I would never advise using the company.

Since it's the holidays, hollyberrys sound absolutely delicious! I would absolutely love this kit. With the allergies that I have and asthma, Method products have literally been a life saver.
