i put all plastic and paper in the recycling bin. if its not recyclable, they can throw it out at the recycling plant. also, i'm limited to the amount of garbage i can throw away each week (actually -- in toronto we have garbage collected one week and recycling the other week, but compost every week) Apartment Therapy San Francisco | I Didn't Know You Could Recycle That EcoMetro |

This is a great idea for at home, but I don't know of ANY schools where you can pack peanut butter in your child's lunch. Apartment Therapy New York | From The Kitchn: Peanut Butter and Fruit "Sushi" |

I just traveled by car with my cat Chesterfield to my parent's house for a few days. He is a perfect little traveler. He doesn't like the car, it's definitely not his favourite place, but he tolerates it. I don't put him in a crate because he freaks out and cries in there for the whole time. He mostly sits on my lap in the passenger seat (My father was driving, if i were the only one in the car and driving Chesterfield would definitely be in a carrier). He also enjoys sitting on the centre console of the car between the front seats. This past time I didn't put his carrier in the car, I completely forgot because he never goes in, but I should have brought it in case we had to stop for an emergency (or the cops). my mom's a vet and she used to use my old one-piece bathing suits from when i was little on dogs to cover their stitches so they wouldn't break them open... i don't know if it looks better than the giant cone over a dog's head, but oh well... Reminds me of the car in Kensington Market in Toronto. It's permanently parked on the street and has lots of plants growing on it. The city towed it last year and everyone was (rightfully) PISSED. Now its back and everyone is happy. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Look: An Old Car Planter Austin |
