@MNTNGR, you'll get better sound if you move the speakers to the ground or dedicated stands. You want to minimize vibration in your turntable to make it sound its best, and having the turntable sit on the same cabinet as your speakers will create a lot of extra vibration. Plus, it'll allow you to spread out your sweet looking turntable and receiver!

The Specktone may be pretty, but it sounds TERRIBLE. I got rid of mine months ago. I liked the looks, but music sounded muffled and dead through its cheap, lousy speakers. AVOID!

Audio gear for sure. I didn't mind splurging on my two channel set-up (speakers, receiver, turntable and cartridge, iPod dock) because I should be using it for many years.

I would like to meet friendly aliens who can recognize good music. I would play them "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder as a test of their musical taste.

My favorite soundtrack is Tron.

My wife and I hold on to issues of Make and Craft. For all other magazines, we tear out pages that are good for inspiration and store them in our "home ideas" binder.

I'm in the market for a new litter box - it would be great if AT profiled some modern, interesting looking litter boxes (if such a thing actually exists).

I used a reusable filter for a while, but I found that my coffee tasted better when I used a Chemex paper filter. The filter goes into the compost bin after I'm done brewing my coffee, so I don't feel too bad about the environmental implications.
