you can sometimes get the big gallon jugs of bona at Beb Bath and Beyond (with 20% coupon), and I once saw it at costco! I've been through several Bona mops, so now I use a much stronger mop with washable microfiber head from the hardware store.

FWIW, it was recommended to me by the guy who installed my floors. He recently redid them and I saw him using it to clean his own mess!

Any idea where I can find that bed in the US? My French is not very good :)

My son loves to smash keys while we skype with the grandparents and regularly hangs up on them. So I'm actually looking for the opposite of these apps. Instead of making key-smashing attractive by playing sounds and letters, I am looking for an application that can "freeze" it all, like a key lock on a cell phone screen. Does anyone know of such an app? Or a keyboard cover for a mac laptop? All of the ones I found in the market allow for typing through the cover, which beats the purpose.

rookie question here: I have a concrete backyard with two squares cut out for two plum trees. Would it be ok to plant groundcovers around the trees? Currently the ground is covered in...weeds and a few nasturtium plants. I'm afraid of the groundcover suffocating my trees.

I love this kitchen! It's cool and calm, but you know you can find everything you need in it!
I'm curious to see the rest of the house, is that a triple Nelson lamp? Very intriguing...

i splurged for the boon and I love it! It is kinda heavy on the bottom, but it looks cool. I think that it is very very safe for any size baby. I will be using this chair 3 times a day for at least 2 (times number of kids) years, so I wanted to get one that I enjoyed seeing! Also, it serves as a great walker toy for the baby :)

I like that the place is not all made up like all the other photo tours. The space looks like someone actually lives there!

why do they come with metal frames anyways? I've always hated them. The wheels don't lock, there is always one sharp, exposed edge... Simple feet would be cheaper for mattress stores as well!

Is the photo from the cb2 catalog? I love the yellow lamp, but don't see it on cb2.com

I have the Nigella breadbox (waited a few months until it became available, keep checking). It is expensive and LARGE, but I love love love it. It makes our breads stay fresh, and now that I store our breadknife in it, it's self-contained with the cutting board lid. I highly recommend it.

I used to collect banners from museums for a "donation" until Better Wall took the opportunity away from me. Now they clean them (30 mins on your knees, scrubbing), add hardware ($30?) and charge 10-15 times more. My assumption is that most of the price goes to paying the rights for the art on the banner. I hope I'm correct!

don't be fooled by the pretty picture, if you follow the instructions to a t, you will end up with burnt, black, spooky, but inedible lollipops! At least we did. Martha Stewart let me down with her recipes once again!

I remember reading about the birch/white combo malm. I think it was a hack job with wallpaper. Search the archives.

I did my measuring and decided that Hemnes was a better option for my changing table. A 3-drawer Hemnes is taller than a Malm and the surface is larger than the changing pad, which gives me space to store diapers, wipes, clothes etc. What I've found with a lot of AT nursery tours is that they don't show where such necessities would be stashed, as in Photo #4.

The pillows on the house tour look like the triangular Thai pillows. I brought back two smaller ones from Bangkok a few years ago, just to find them being used at every Osha Thai around the city. Maybe you could ask them where to get one?

beautiful house! It's how I *want* to live :)

can you tell me where your dining table light is from? I chuckled when I saw that you had to resort to bringing the electricity from the center of the room on the surface of the ceiling. I was resisting it so strongly that we had been eating dinner in the dark. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet.

I'm about to hang a giant poster above my bed. In order to save my head and lots of $, I will get it mounted and framed with no plexiglass or glass cover! My room doesn't get too much sun, so fading won't be an issue.

I also love Tomales Bay and have been there enough times to know that there is no need for antique skis in a cottage. What are we, in Tahoe? Stuff thrown in to make it seem cozy without making any sense just ticks me off...
