If you're going to frame photographs or graphite drawings NEVER use plexiglass. It has static & can damage or lift your artwork! We learned this in my framing class in college. The framing instructor was in charge of framing millions of dollars worth of historical artwork. I definitely trust his opinion.

With that said, I always use glass. I've moved around 5 times (twice cross country) in the last 5 years & never have I had anything break on me; and I have a TON of artwork.

I say seafoam green (a really light one, not obnoxiously seafoam green) with an accent wall or accent stripe of a cheery, peachy orange. I think that'd compliment the flooring & the other, more warm colors I'm seeing in the pics. Good luck!

The room turned out beautifully! I love how you did the scallop & incorporated the coat hooks into the vinyl sticker!! Genius!

I'm in the same boat! My husband & I have moved & now we have the computer & my craft area in the same room. It's great to have the space just for those things, but we're really struggling on how to organize the whole space.

I may have to copy your pegboard idea. LOVE it!

I got the lampshade at Target, but sadly they don't carry it anymore! It was definitely love at first sight when I saw that thing. It goes so well with Penelope's personality.

I think it's an important rite of passage to have to share rooms at one point in your childhood. I have such fond memories of sharing a room. I absolutely LOVE how this is done!

There's a lot of charm and organization in this room. If I ever have 4 kids, I'm going to make them bunk together. LOVE IT!

Thanks so much for all of your sweet comments! If you click over to the blog post, you'll find the sources of everything purchased for her room.

However, I didn't mention the source of the love print (I already had it on hand & didn't list it as a purchase for the room). It's from made by girl - madebygirl.com - she has some awesome posters!

The rug is from Urban Outfitters

Not sure on the brand or the source of the crib. It's nearly 30 years old, no tags are intact. Jenny lind cribs are a popular crib style that's similar to the one pictured.

I did paint the handles by myself! It was super easy. I just removed them from the drawers & spray painted them with Krylon Fusion spray paint in yellow.

Painting the ceiling wasn't really an option I wanted to consider because the wood paneling on the ceiling is laminate that was STAPLED, yes stapled, to the ceiling by our genius of a maintenance guy. There's also no moulding and the ceiling panels have nasty gaps between them.

I thought about stapling the sheets taught, but that just made my brain explode. It would've looked cool, though.

As for the ceiling height, you can't really tell from the pictures but the natural ceiling is about 10 feet, abnormally tall for a 1930's bungalow basement. The draped bedsheets only lower the ceiling to be just taller than 9 feet.

We just painted straight on to the wood paneling. I certainly wouldn't suggest doing that if you're going to live in the space for more than a year, but it worked just fine.

Turns out, there's a paint primer meant to adhere to stained wood so you wouldn't have to sand before painting. Sherwin Williams makes an Adhesion Primer.

I thought this was a spoof at first! These diapers are hilarious, which makes it even MORE funny how some of the commenters have been so uptight & negative about them.

They remind me of Tobias Funke & his "never nude" condition.

My favourite tip has to be *Avoid using flash at all costs*! Using the natural light of any given setting makes such a big difference.
