I like this for staging, if looks great in a lot of photos, but for real life, not so much.

Our books are either on the bedside table when we are reading them, up to 10 books and a few magazines each, or if we see us reading the book again in a shelf in the basement, with around 175-200 books or so, if it is something that we are not going to read again it goes to a charity shop. The kids books are in the kids rooms and cookery books in the kitchen.

This is what I have done with our place, down with wallpaper, paneling, dark paints and on with a pure white paint, everything looks so much bigger and brighter and shows off not only the artwork and the furniture but also the architecture much, much better.

I really love colour, but the walls will probably always stay white.

The Verzelloni one in the first picture is pretty grown up and much more like a chaise than a beanbag. Wouldn't mind a couple of these to complement our Fritz Hansen sofa.

Been sleeping on tempurpedic memory foam for years and never really found it to be exceedingly warm and never hot.

In the past 12-13 years my wife and I have lived in 6 countries and 11 different homes, not counting corporate rentals and hotels in which we've stayed in for several months over the years. We finally bought a house around 4 months ago and it now looks as we need to rent it out as we are relocating again for a while.

I guess that 50% off what you paid is the minimum you have to take off unless it is a highly sought after piece. We have a ridiculously expensive sofa ourselves, but even if we cut a very good deal on it (35% of retail) we would still not expect to get more than maybe half what we paid for it if we sold it, and it is still in 99.9% perfect condition. For some strange reason, would we have bought a classic armchair like an Egg, Womb or Eames lounger, we could probably have sold it for at least 70% of the retail, if not more, of the new price without any greater difficulties.

I just despise shower curtains, clammy and just discusting, so for us it is glass shower screen and luckily we have soft water which means minimal amounts of limescale and not too much cleaning.

As said above, test the outlet before touching any wires, even if the power is switched of at the fusebox, in older houses you can never be sure of what idiot has tampered with the electricity! This is talking out of own experience living in a house with over half a century old electrics.

Humidity is the worst to cope with I find, so do what we do in Hong Kong, get a dehumidifier and you won't have to run the AC as much. A dehumidifier uses a lot less energy than an AC.

If the casters are for an actual Eames Aluminum Group chair, as per the picture, original replacements from Herman Miller cost an arm and a leg. Wanted to replace my carpet casters with the hard floor variety and was chocked by the quote i got. Was lucky enough to find a set of vintage ones, not sure if they are original though, that actually look better than the new ones do.

I would probably have gone for a set of three rod hairpin table legs in stainless from www.ianmaclean.com/ with a black table top to match the chairs.
