Just an FYI that touching shoes to books is considered disrespectful in my part of the world, India :-) The thought is that shoe soles are considered to be dirty (they usually are), and you don't defile a source of knowledge with dirt. Inspired By: Books as Display Shelves |

My mother does this- not with towels, but with kitchen towels. It works amazingly. She keeps vegetables thus wrapped out in the open even during the hot summers in India- and they stay fresh and do not go bad. Best Way To Keep Greens Fresh? The Bath Towel Method |
