I LOVE the LACK floating shelves. I've never had any issues installing them, nor have they left overly horrendous holes in my walls. I have had them anchored to drywall for the past four years and they've held up - and held things up - swimmingly! I used to have one of the long shelves as a sort of nightstand/sideboard next to my bed (which was placed lengthwise against a wall).
