What an adorable puppy!

The only real potential long-term issue might be the train noise. You'll probably learn to sleep through it, though.

Jasmine - I used to have the same desk, and hence the same problem. One possibility is placing the desk on shorter legs so that the keyboard is at a good height, then raising the monitor on a stand.

So much to like here!

The floral rug and lampshade confuse me terribly, though. It's like they wandered in from another room.

BTW, that kitchen radiator? Don't let the space above that go to waste. Place a shelf right over it for more "counter" space, or a DIY skinny island. A pegboard above the radiator for pots, pans, gadgets, etc.

What the first commenter said. A layout would be really useful in understanding the space. Ideally, the part of the LR you choose would be adjacent to the kitchen. Or....You could place the dining table in that window nook and add a sideboard for storing servingware.

But, damn, that is one small kitchen.

Paint the walls a cool blue or gray to balance the red. I think metal/glass furniture would keep everything from being too "heavy."

Almost anything would look good with these! You could do crisp white bedding with some sort of black trim, or a bold color like pink (magenta or fuschia or some other BRIGHT, STRONG pink).

I love this idea!

I think the window treatment could be mounted higher, but otherwise it looks really cozy!

SO many books in such a small space! Still, I'm loving the colors. Perfect blend of calming and stimulating. <3

I wonder what type of shelf that is above the radiator. Wood? If so, does it warp?

I can so clearly imagine a big cloud on the wall over the bed. It would look so cool!

Oh, just paint the brown walls! If the landlord is that design-challenged, s/he probably won't even notice.

Chalkboard paint them!

Because one opens from the top and the other opens from the front, you will have access issues with any type of cover. Keep it simple. Go with paint.

I don't think you can go wrong with white subway tile. You could use an almond-color grout to tie it in with the floor.

Throw some cool bath mats done on such a small space, and you won't even notice the floor tiles.

There's a huge difference between having doors on a bathtub and doors on a shower.

Doors on a tub are a nuisance. The tub already places an obstacle (i.e., the side) between you and your shower. Why would you want a second obstacle in the form of glass doors? (Corollary: I hate most bathtubs.)

Doors on a shower stall --the right doors, that is, with minimal, easy-to-clean tracks -- can be gorgeous. I had clear semi-frameless doors installed in my new shower and it opens up the space mush more than curtains ever would. Much cleaner, too.

Still...If you move the dining table to where the couch is now, and the landing strip over to the current TV locations, you'll have much better flow. No more cutting between the TV and couch.

Also, that corner where the closet is would make a great eating nook. It seems to have a small window. You could try taking the door off the closet and having that function as a sideboard somehow (wine storage? fancy plates?).
