I recently nearly rented an apartment that was perfect except that it didn't have a tub. After much research I came to find that setting a (heavy) clawfoot tub + water + your weight in a shower area is a recipe for disaster- likely ending in serious damage to the floor beneath it.

Squaring off the area is also not advisable as it is a lot of water and pressure to handle, not only for the new wall, but for the floor.

Get a nice piece of teak furniture in there and lounge away....

Also, there are some odd similarities in my apartment: an almost identical white drop leaf and single green vinyl chair setup with skateboard nearby. And the pull down map... and taste! We both have taste ;)

The white is made up of the smaller squares. You can see a pull down blind that separates that window with the newly installed window (with the black panes). I realize my picture is not the best, but my description should fill the gaps.

And no, bepsf, curtains won't work with an indoor cat and an apartment on the 11th floor. Any real help out there?
