Thanks everyone. From the comments it seems like a cold start would work as well as preheating for this particular recipe. And like some of you pointed out, Molly's recipes have never failed me before :) I will give it a try this weekend!

Try the curry from this recipe:

http://tarladalal.com/Recipe.asp?id=1064

It calls for yogurt, fresh cream and cashewnuts, all of which make for a creamy smooth curry. I am however partial to the actual koftas made with paneer rather than just vegetables and spinach like the above recipe says.

"The Musician" sounds like an easy and beautiful dessert to make. I was wondering how I could go about substituting the gelatin leaf with powdered gelatin. Anyone?

The recipe says to broil cake topping for 2-8 minutes. Do you put the topping on the cake and put the whole thing back in the oven to broil?

I use Dr Elsey's Precious cat litter for my two cats. We clean the box two times a day to keep odors away. It does track a bit, but one of my cats is extremely nitpicky about the litter box. This is the only litter that he's been using without problems. And I'll take some tracking any day to soiling the carpet :( I would highly recommend this litter for cats with litter box problems.

I would say plants. A beautiful fluffly ruffle fern to the right of the sofa on a pedestal, or maybe a palm. They do not require much light. I have a north facing room and these plants are doing quite well. Or you could have another side table there and go for symmetry. The mat in the 2nd rendering looks much better that in the first for the landscape painting.

Also a printed rug might bring some color into the room.

Just my 2 cents!! :)

Lemon Grass tea is highly recommended when you have a cold or the flu (now that flu season's upon us!). Just boil some stalks in water; you can spice it with cloves and cinnamon if you like. Add some honey and you have a wonderfully soothing tea!

Your house is great! Love the citrus colors and the exposed brick wall anchors the room perfectly. The one and only tiny little thing....some pillows on the couch would be a great addition for a softer feel...just my 2 cents...but love it as is!

I used to have this. It worked for some time....but it was too small for one of my kitties and he refused to use it after a while. This obviously resulted in a lot of accidents here and there...I finally had to get rid of it. In fact this caused so much trauma to my kitty that now he refuses to use any kind of covered litterbox no matter the size. So my advice is, if your cats are petite, this one should work great...but this is not very good for larger cats.

I have recently switched to Miracle Cat Litter. It's supposed to attract cats to the litter box. I also add the miracle cat cat attract additive to it. One of my kitties has major issues with his litter box. After using it without fail for more than a year, he suddenly started to be terrified of the litter box. We had to coax him back to it and retrain him. Now he is on and off with his use of it. But I think the Cat Attract litter's really helping. Also, we used Feliway Pheromone spray and diffuser. They are pricey but I think they really calm them down.

The living room is quite nice and a nice rug would definitely pull it together nicely. Some ATers can be really brutal!! :) The kilim rugs recommended are lovely.

This post hits right home for me. I had collected a dozen pillows over the year - I loved all of them, but they were all a complete mish mash of colors and prints. I recently retired all of them and brought in 4 new pillows - all in black and white and I think I am much happier now!

If you are in the SF-bay area be sure to check out Trove in Berkeley. They have some of the most amazing pillows - John Robshaw and others - for 20$ or less.

Also, I absolutely love Joom pillows on etsy.

Sometimes speed decorating and buying all the furniture you need at one time is really helpful. I bought my bedside tables over a year ago and I love them. But I bought a dresser only now, and I love the dresser but it doesn't look too great with the bedside tables. Trying to find a dresser within budget, that looked good by itself and with the bedside tables was nothing short of impossible for me. :(
