These don't look OR sound good! I'd rather have the "unadulterated" Doritos.

Sometimes I use them when handling raw chicken. I'm a little unreasonable when it comes to chicken... I wouldn't cook it for years because I didn't have a dishwasher to sanitize everything afterward. I'm not a huge clean-freak, so I'm not sure why chicken makes me so crazy.

This looks like the perfect cookie recipe book! Love that price too; just added it to my shopping cart. Thanks!

I love this kitchen! It is so unique and inviting. I can imagine myself cooking and baking there and feeling completely comfortable. That awesome view and all the windows don't hurt either!

I agree with the opinions on the trash compactor, etc. Not really sure what those shots were for, but whatever.

I agree with bepsf... this post doesn't seem prepared for publishing! We have no idea what they want to use the room for, how big it is, what the rest of the room looks like, etc.

Anyway, congratulations on your new house!

Where the heck have I been? I haven't heard of this Chemex thing!

My electric coffee maker is getting kind of old and yucky-looking, so maybe I will give the Chemex a go around.

I usually use parchment paper or plastic wrap as well. Sometimes I like a bit of floury powder on the bottom of my cookie though - is that weird? It's like the cornmeal on the bottom of an English muffin (my favorite half)!

Cute little kitchen! I'm glad you're making it work for you. Galley kitchens are certainly difficult. I agree with Sherry about painting the wall opposite of the appliances white.

Anyway...remember when it seemed like half of the posts on AT were of questionable value, to put it nicely? I'd say this is an improvement! ;)

I also think "giving" someone a donation in their name is a strange thing. Who says I want a donation given to such-and-such charity in my name? Also, how do you present that to the "receiver"? It does come off as rather self-righteous, in my view.

But then, gift-giving is about thinking of the receiver - so I suppose it depends on the person!

Nice, I will have to try some of these. I currently subscribe to Peet's delivery service, but I'd like to try some other roasters.

I think Texas Sheet Cake is like an easier, more casual version of a German Chocolate Cake, which was originally created in Texas. Maybe that is where the name came from...it was just a common chocolate cake in Texas (where pecans are plentiful!).

Maybe some nicer/more attractive light fixtures? I do like the idea of a potted tree to hide the meter.

My husband and I live in a ~650 sq.ft. apartment with a great floor plan. It is just large enough that we don't feel cramped. But I would love to have an extra room to use as an office/hobby room. My husband has a lot of music stuff that we keep in the living room and the coat closet right now, and it would be so nice to have that somewhere else. I'd also like to have a place to work on projects, etc. where I wouldn't have to see them all the time.

I drink Tito's and Dripping Springs because they are cheap, good, and local. Dripping Springs has more of a bite, which I like for things like a Bloody Mary. I don't think a better vodka is necessary.

Yeah, what is "destructi-ist"? Did you really mean "destructionist", or is it some new term that haven't heard? lol

Anyway, I think the floor is fantastic! How lucky that you were able to uncover such a gem! It looks great with the white cabinets/tile and the modern features.

And really, the washer and dryer don't bother me. They go well with the rest of the kitchen. Just another appliance in a room already full of them, right!

I can't imagine going without air conditioning in Austin. I would rather cut back to Ramen noodles for every meal in order to afford A/C!

I do really love the when I can open the windows and get a fresh breeze, but that's only about two months a year. The rest of the time it is either too hot or too wet or both!
