Don't know the website but Black Sheep White Light has Icelandic rugs which adhere to very strict guidelines and are eco-friendly.

I'm with GypsyMomma. I teared up so much I thought I'd short circuit my keyboard. She's lucky to have you. In my day dads were discouraged from being a part of our lives and we're a generation sadly lacking. Kudos to you.

I'm a long-term resident of Toronto and live/work near the market. It's vibrant, colourful and full of something from every corner of the world, as well as everything local. Thankfully, some of the things it doesn't have are air conditioning, one cashier transactions and no crowds.

I find the air conditioners on the surrounding builidings more intriguing. Especially as the buildings fade into dark the units look like white floating lights.

Oh...I...just...hate...you. The water; the house. It's so restful. I live beside Lake Ontario...now there's a manky body of water. I hope you don't mind if I steal some of your ideas - they're dead gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

I find this rather refreshing. I find this truer to what AT started out as...ideas and a forum for people who live in small apartments...not the 1000 sq. ft. places we've been seeing lately. I'd love to see this apartment again once the windows have been replaced and some decorating done. I live in 320 sq. ft. and I'm sure they have much to teach me.

When I was a child back in the 50's, Casa Loma was also a doll hospital. Today, they have great spook walks at Halloween.

I love the look of it but the back is too short to be comfortable as a sofa. I live in 300 s.f. and my bed doubles as a sofa.

This is fabulous. Unfortunately, I don't have a metal balcony...mine is solid cement. Does anyone have an idea as to how I'd keep peg board from falling if there's nothing to tie it to? I'd love to use this for privacy from the buildings behind me. Thanks.

I am fortunate enough to own 4 of Julien's works. Unfortunately, they've gone up in price in the past year and I can only afford them on a rare occasion. I bought an orange and you can almost smell it. Truly beautiful.

I saw plants through a window. I loved the interior but would love to have seen some beach and other outdoor pictures. I live downtown in a major city with wall-to-wall buildingw. I love it when ATers share their yards. It's such a great cheap way to dream.

Overall I like this place; however, I agree that the living room is cramped. I live in 300 s.q. and my place looks larger. I'd have one chair and sofa in the living room or two chairs and the ottoman. That way, the books you like to decorate with would show more, along with your gorgeous lamps. The living room is very beige looking. Could you make a drama wall (color) over the fireplace? Although I can't see the colors well, Tiffany's are usually jewel-toned. Maybe pull a color from the lamps or books and tie it in on your drama wall. The cushion on the living room chair is almost the same color as the room and furniture (maybe color here). Instead of all the items on the mantel, perhaps a large mirror (as you have small windows) and a few small items. Sort of looks like that dresser that was featured earlier today with all the "stuff".

AT showed the house of I believe Ester and Dan some time ago (California?) and their dresser had a small mirror or picture above and a budha on the dresser top. That was all. I thought it was so restfull that when I get stressed I still look at that as a source of peace. This is just dreck.

I'm with everyone else. Don't paint any of the wood or the fireplace. I agree the trim looks a little orangy so why not use that wall as an accent wall and paint it a pumpkin shade or something similar. That would blend everything so it doesn't stick out against the lighter wall color and make the ceiling more of a focal point as it seems less orangy.
